HVAC Design Engineer

Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Design Engineer, specializing in HVAC design. Additional expertise in Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, and ELV systems will be considered an advantage. The ideal candidate should have a solid background, preferably in consultancy, with experience in designing of Hospitality projects such as hotels, clubs, wellness centre, gym, recreation facilities, restaurants, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HVAC system designs, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork layouts, Fresh air system, Air purifications, Ventilation/smoke extraction system, pressurization system, etc.
• Organize, assign and coordinate essential engineering and design tasks with a team of consultants and architects to efficiently develop construction design drawings and documents.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in results to ensure accuracy.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Provide support for tendering, budgeting, procurement and construction activities as needed.
• Coordinate and collaborate in real time with disciplines like Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Fighting, structural, interior and architectural to develop designs that ensure seamless integration of services.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for Promoters and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations in HVAC design.
• Participates in site visits to assess existing HVAC systems and propose improvements or retrofits.
• Ensure designs comply with local and international codes, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Experiences

• 8 to 10 years of experience in HVAC system design for Hospitality Project.

Software Knowledge

• HAP, etc.
• Proficiency in MS office, AutoCAD is essential.

Technical Proficiency

• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, BS, IEC, IS Codes standards and local building codes.
• Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
• Design of HVAC and other mechanical system.
• Heat load calculation with HAP, Hevacomp or IES, ventilation calculation, Pressurization design, Fan selection, static pressure etc. related to HVAC system.
• Services coordination & checking.
• Safety and Security design as per FLS and HSSE Guidelines.
• Able to calculate the pressure drop calculation for duct & pipes.
• Design of HVAC and other mechanical system.
