Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead the entire HR function from the ground up, establishing scalable people processes to support a rapidly growing technology startup.
- Design and implement HR policies, frameworks, and documentation aligned with company culture, operational discipline, and defence-sector requirements.
- Drive workforce planning, organizational structuring, and manpower forecasting to support expansion across engineering, manufacturing, sales, and operations.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding of high-quality talent.
- Develop structured onboarding and employee integration programs to ensure smooth assimilation into company culture and operations.
- Establish and manage performance management systems including KPIs, probation evaluations, performance reviews, and growth pathways.
- Create employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives to build a motivated and high-performance team environment.
- Develop internal training and leadership development programs to strengthen technical, operational, and managerial capabilities.
- Manage payroll operations including salary structuring, reimbursements, incentives, and compensation planning in coordination with finance.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory labour laws including PF, ESIC, Gratuity, Bonus, Professional Tax, Shops & Establishments Act, Factories Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Wages Act, and POSH Act.
- Maintain statutory registers and compliance documentation including muster rolls, wage registers, Form-D, Form-II, and inspection records.
- Lead POSH compliance including Internal Committee setup, training sessions, complaint management, and documentation.
- Draft, review, and manage all employment documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and structured documentation of employee records, HR files, and compliance registers.
- Design compensation frameworks, incentive structures, ESOP, and retention policies aligned with company growth.
- Handle employee relations, grievance resolution, disciplinary actions, warning notices, and workplace conflict management.
- Manage exit processes including resignations, terminations, full & final settlements, and exit interviews.
- Build scalable HR infrastructure including HRMS systems, documentation processes, and HR analytics dashboards.
- Conduct periodic HR compliance audits to ensure complete statutory and documentation readiness.
- Prepare HR MIS reports covering hiring pipeline, workforce metrics, compliance status, and organizational development updates.
- Work closely with leadership to align HR strategy with company growth, new facility setup, and operational scale-up.
- Support hiring and workforce expansion for manufacturing, R&D, and field operations across multiple locations.
- Foster a disciplined, ownership-driven workplace culture aligned with high-performance technology and defence environments.
- Assist the Legal department in preparing documentation for labor disputes, litigation, or regulatory reporting.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree inHuman Resources Management, Labour Law, or Business Administration (MBA/PGDM).
- Minimum4 years of experiencein HR leadership roles, with strong exposure tomanufacturing, defence-tech, or deep-tech startups.
- In-depth knowledge ofIndian labour laws and company legal frameworks.
- Proven track record inHR transformation, policy design, and cross-functional team leadership.
- Excellent command overlegal drafting, documentation, and contract negotiation.
- Proficiency inHRMS tools, MS Office, and digital document management systems.
