Job Title: HR Operations Lead
Location: Hyderabad
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HR Operations Lead to manage end-to-end HR operations for the in-house workforce and a large contract workforce deployed across multiple client locations in India.
This role requires someone strong in HR operations, labour compliance, contractor management, and client communication. The person should be confident in handling complex situations, escalations, audits, and day-to-day HR challenges, while ensuring smooth HR processes and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. End-to-End HR Operations
- Manage complete HR operations for internal employees and contract staff.
- Own the employee lifecycle: onboarding, documentation, attendance, payroll coordination, compliance, engagement, and exits.
- Ensure HR processes are scalable and suitable for a contract staffing agency environment.
2. Contractor & Client HR Management
- Act as the single point of contact for HR-related discussions with clients for deployed contractors.
- Handle contractor issues related to attendance, payroll, leave, performance concerns, exits, replacements, and escalations.
- Confidently manage difficult client conversations, conflicts, and urgent situations in a professional manner.
3. Payroll, Attendance & Benefits
- Coordinate with finance and payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely payroll for internal staff and contractors.
- Oversee attendance tracking, leave management, and payroll inputs.
- Ensure statutory benefits and deductions are correctly implemented.
4. Statutory Compliance & Labour Laws
- Ensure full compliance with Indian labour laws applicable to staffing, including:
- PF, ESI, PT, LWF, TDS
- CLRA, Shops & Establishments
- Contract labour documentation
- Manage audits, inspections, and statutory filings.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all employees and contractors.
5. Onboarding, BGV & Offboarding
- Manage smooth onboarding for internal hires and contractors, including:
- Documentation
- Background verification (BGV)
- Client-specific onboarding requirements
- Handle exits, final settlements, asset recovery, and exit interviews.
6. HR Systems & Data Management
- Own HRMS / ATS/payroll systems and ensure data accuracy.
- Generate HR reports related to headcount, attrition, compliance, payroll, and contractor status.
- Work closely with internal teams to improve HR operational efficiency.
7. Employee Relations & Issue Handling
- Address employee and contractor queries related to HR policies, payroll, and compliance.
- Handle grievances, disputes, and escalations with maturity and empathy.
- Ensure a professional and positive HR experience for employees at all levels.
8. Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage and coordinate with external vendors such as:
- Payroll vendors
- Compliance partners
- BGV agencies
- HRMS / ATS providers
- Ensure SLAs and service quality are maintained.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
5+ years of experience in HR Operations
Minimum 2 years handling contract staffing/payroll / compliance
Prior experience in a recruitment or staffing firm is highly preferred
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws and staffing compliance
- Excellent client communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to handle pressure situations, escalations, and sensitive conversations
- Strong coordination skills with internal teams, finance, and external vendors
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and solution-driven approach
