Job Summary

The Group Manager HR Operations will lead and scale backend HR operations supporting the US and North America region. This role requires strong experience managing large, multi-layered HR operations teams working during US business hours, ensuring seamless onboarding, HR systems set up, payroll advisory, and HR helpdesk services. The role will drive and ensure continued employee onboarding daily in collaboration with recruitment team and other stakeholders. Will also drive compliance, operational excellence, and high-quality service delivery aligned to US labor and payroll regulations.


Key Responsibilities

1. US & North America Onboarding Leadership

  • Lead and govern end-to-end onboarding operations for US and North America hires.
  • Ensure timely and compliant completion of onboarding documentation, including I-9, W-4, state/province-specific forms, and policy acknowledgments.
  • Establish scalable onboarding models, controls, and audit mechanisms, including turn-key / rebadging projests.
  • Manage onboarding SLAs aligned to US business hours.

2. HR Systems & New Hire Setup Oversight

  • Own governance for new hire setup across HRIS, payroll, benefits, LMS, and time & attendance systems.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of system access provisioning.
  • Partner with IT and HR Tech teams to drive automation and system enhancements.
  • Oversee data quality, integrations, and operational readiness for US/NA employees.

3. Payroll Advisory & Compliance (US & NA)

  • Act as senior HR operations advisor for new hire payroll-related matters across US and North America.
  • Oversee payroll inputs, validations, and exception handling with payroll vendors or internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Lead payroll audits, reconciliations, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Manage complex payroll escalations and employee concerns.

4. HR Help Desk & Service Delivery Management

  • Lead enterprise HR helpdesk operations supporting US & North America employees.
  • Define SLAs, KPIs, and service quality standards aligned with US time-zone coverage.
  • Ensure high-quality, timely resolution of employee inquiries related to onboarding, payroll, benefits, HR policies, and systems.
  • Leverage analytics and automation to improve service efficiency and employee experience.

5. Large Team Leadership & Workforce Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop large HR operations teams including managers, team leads, and specialists.
  • Ensure effective workforce planning, shift management, and coverage during 8:30 AM5:30 PM EST.
  • Drive performance management, capability building, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

6. Compliance, Risk & Process Excellence

  • Act as the custodian of HR operational compliance for US & North America.
  • Ensure audit readiness, documentation governance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Develop, standardize, and continuously improve SOPs and control frameworks.
  • Identify operational risks and implement preventive and corrective actions.

7. Stakeholder, Vendor & Executive Management

  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, IT, and regional HR leadership.
  • Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and performance outcomes.
  • Represent HR Operations in leadership reviews, governance forums, and audits.
  • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Proven experience managing large HR operations teams supporting US & North America hires.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of US onboarding, payroll processes, and compliance.
  • Experience operating in US time zones (EST) and managing offshore/onshore teams.
  • Deep experience with HRIS, payroll platforms, and HR helpdesk tools.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and executive communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in shared services, captive centers, or global delivery models.
  • Exposure to HR digital transformation and automation initiatives.
  • HR certifications (SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
