About the Role:
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with HSSE standards, regulations, and policies.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and mitigate risks.
- Enforce compliance with environmental laws, including waste management, emissions control, and water usage.
- Safety Training and Awareness:
- Assist in organizing safety inductions and training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
- Promote a safety-first culture on-site through awareness campaigns and regular safety briefings.
- Conduct periodic toolbox talks to keep the workforce informed on safety protocols.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation:
- Respond promptly to safety incidents or emergencies, and ensure proper documentation.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents, near misses, and accidents, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed incident reports, accident logs, and corrective action plans (CAPA).
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and report daily HSSE performance, highlighting safety observations, incidents, and ongoing risks.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly HSSE reports to senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audit results, and regulatory documentation.
- Emergency Response and Preparedness:
- Participate in emergency drills and ensure the workforce is prepared for emergencies (e.g., fire, medical, electrical incidents).
- Ensure that first aid and firefighting equipment are available and maintained on-site.
- Collaboration:
- Coordinate with other project teams (e.g., construction, procurement) to ensure safe work practices are followed across the site.
- Work closely with the HSSE Manager to implement any new or updated HSSE policies or procedures
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field
- NEBOSH certification or equivalent Health & Safety qualification required
- 3–5 years of experience in HSSE roles, with 2 years in solar power plant or renewable energy projects
- Strong knowledge of HSSE regulations, safety protocols, and environmental compliance
- Proficient in site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Ability to conduct safety training and toolbox talks for workers and subcontractors
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards
- Strong communication, incident reporting, and emergency response skills
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and sustainable environmental practices
- Ability to work in remote locations and handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
