We have an immediate job opportunity for you as an Analyst//Senior Analyst//Lead - Hotel Accountant.
Location : Hyderabad/Chennai/Vizag (Hybrid Model - 3 Days office)
Shift Timings : 3:00 PM IST to 12 AM IST
Position Overview
CES is seeking a Hotel Accountant to support the fullcycle accounting and financial reporting for a growing portfolio of hospitality assets. This role will be responsible for daytoday hotel accounting operations, monthend close, lender and management reporting, and coordination with onproperty teams and thirdparty managers.
The ideal candidate has handson hotel accounting experience, is comfortable managing multiple properties, and understands the operational nuances of hospitality accounting within a real estate or private equity environment.
Key Responsibilities
Hotel Accounting & MonthEnd Close
- Perform fullcycle accounting for a portfolio of hotel properties
- Prepare and post journal entries; reconcile balance sheet and operating accounts monthly
- Complete monthend and quarterend closes accurately and on schedule
- Review and analyze hotel P&Ls, variance reports, and supporting schedules
- Ensure revenue and expense recognition is accurate and compliant with GAAP
Cash Management & Reconciliations
- Post and reconcile daily and monthly cash activity for hotel operating accounts
- Perform bank, credit card, and clearing account reconciliations
- Track merchant deposits, payroll withdrawals, loan payments, and reserve transfers
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in coordination with operations and AP teams
Payroll & Operating Expenses
- Prepare payroll journal entries and ensure payroll activity ties to cash and reports
- Review payroll allocations, accruals, and supporting documentation
- Support operating expense tracking, accruals, and expense classification
- Coordinate with AP and property teams on invoice coding and timing
Reporting & Lender Support
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Prepare lender reporting packages for select hotel assets
- Support audit requests and annual audit coordination with external auditors
- Create ad hoc schedules and analyses for management, asset management, and investors
Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve accounting workflows, controls, and documentation
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across hotel properties
- Support implementation and optimization of accounting systems and processes
- Collaborate with fund accounting, asset management, and operations teams
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience with hotels or hospitality portfolios
- Handson experience with monthend close and multiproperty accounting
- Strong understanding of GAAP and hospitality accounting fundamentals
- Proficiency with hotel/property accounting systems (Yardi strongly preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with detailed schedules
Preferred
- Experience in real estate, private equity, or institutional hospitality ownership
- Experience working with thirdparty hotel operators or property managers
- Prior exposure to lender reporting, audits, or investor reporting
- CPA or CPAtrack a plus (not required)
