Location - Campus Residential Hostel
Reports To - Director Campus Administration
Role Summary
The Boys Hostel Warden is responsible for the overall administration, discipline, safety,
and welfare of approximately 400 resident students (1st and 2nd year) in the boys hostel.
The Warden ensures smooth hostel operations, maintains discipline and a safe living
environment, and acts as the primary point of contact between students, administration,
parents, and campus services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Hostel Administration
Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the boys hostel housing approximately 400
students.
Ensure hostel rules, policies, and code of conduct are implemented and followed.
Maintain student hostel records, room allocations, attendance, and occupancy data.
Manage check-in/check-out procedures, room changes, and hostel documentation.
Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security teams for smooth operations.
2. Student Welfare & Discipline
Maintain discipline and decorum within the hostel premises.
Address student grievances, interpersonal conflicts, and behavioral issues.
Provide mentorship and guidance to first-year students adapting to hostel life.
Monitor student well-being and escalate serious concerns when required.
Enforce policies regarding banned substances, curfew, and campus regulations.
3. Safety & Security
Ensure the safety of residents at all times in coordination with campus security.
Conduct regular hostel rounds and inspections.
Monitor entry/exit of students, especially during night hours.
Ensure compliance with fire safety, emergency evacuation, and disaster management
procedures.
Report and document incidents, violations, or emergencies promptly.
4. Hostel Infrastructure & Facilities
Ensure hostel facilities are clean, functional, and well-maintained.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and infrastructure issues.
Supervise housekeeping staff to maintain hygiene standards.
Monitor utilities such as water supply, electricity, and sanitation.
5. Student Engagement
Encourage positive hostel culture and community living.
Support sports, recreation, and cultural activities within the hostel.
Work with student committees and hostel representatives to address issues proactively.
6. Coordination & Communication
Serve as the primary liaison between students and campus administration.
Communicate notices, policies, and updates to hostel residents.
Coordinate with the academic program office, security team, medical services, dining
services, and maintenance department.
7. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain incident reports, disciplinary records, and hostel registers.
Submit periodic reports to the administration regarding hostel operations.
Maintain documentation for compliance, inspections, and audits.
Working Hours
This is a residential role, and accommodation will be provided on campus.
Individuals not ready to stay on campus need only apply.
Qualifications
Graduate or Postgraduate degree in any discipline.
Experience of 3-7 years in hostel management, student affairs, administration, or
residential campus management preferred.
Experience or Knowledge of F&B services will be an added advantage.
