Duration: Permanent

Location: Chennai

Timings: Full Time (As per company timings)

Role Summary:

We are seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to establish and drive our Healthcare Interoperability Capability within our organization. This role is crucial in supporting and shaping enterprise-wide interoperability initiatives and delivering innovative, standards-driven solutions.

The ideal candidate must possess deep, verifiable subject matter expertise in healthcare interoperability standards, strong strategic thinking abilities, hands-on technical execution experience, and excellent collaboration skills. The role demands high self-drive, initiative, and the ability to translate abstract business challenges into scalable technical solutions.



Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Vision Leadership

  • Define and champion the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Interoperability Center of Excellence (COE), aligning capabilities with digital transformation goals.
  • Lead as a thought leader and chief architect, converting ambiguous requirements into strategic priorities and actionable plans.
  • Monitor emerging standards (e.g., FHIR, API-driven architectures) and regulatory changes (e.g., US Cures Act, GDPR) to maintain global leadership in interoperability.

2. Deep Subject Matter Expertise (SME)

  • Provide authoritative SME across core healthcare interoperability standards including:
  • FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources)
  • HL7 (v2, v3, CDA)
  • X12/EDI (Claims, Enrollment, Eligibility)
  • Other industry standards, terminologies, and resources
  • Oversee the design and implementation of secure, scalable, compliant data exchange solutions across clinical, claims, and administrative domains.

3. Payer and Provider Solution Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of end-to-end interoperability solutions tailored to Healthcare Payers (e.g., claims data integration, member access) and Providers (e.g., EHR integration, clinical data exchange).
  • Develop POCs, reference architectures, and solution accelerators to drive rapid deployment of standards-based solutions.
  • 4. Collaboration & Capability Building
  • Act as primary liaison with product, engineering, operations, and strategic partners to strengthen collaboration.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, proactively resolving issues and effectively bridging business and technology stakeholders.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing interoperability team while establishing governance frameworks, KPIs, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience - 15+ years in healthcare technology with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership focused on data integration and interoperability.

Payer/Provider Exposure - Proven success delivering FHIR-, HL7-, and EDI-based solutions across both payer and provider environments.

Technical Expertise - Deep, verifiable SME in interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, EDI, SNOMED CT, and LOINC.

Leadership Ability - Demonstrated capability to set long-term strategy while personally driving execution of critical initiatives.

Strategic Mindset - Ability to operate effectively with incomplete information and quickly establish clarity and structured action plans.

Communication Skills - Exceptional verbal and written communication, including ability to engage executives and highly technical audiences.

Education - Graduate or post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field.


Desired Attributes

  • Experience building or scaling a COE or similar capability from the ground up.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified FHIR Professional).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based healthcare interoperability platforms such as Azure Health Data Services, AWS HealthLake, and Google Cloud Healthcare API.
