Head Talent Acquisition & HR Business Partnering (Manufacturing & Retail)


Location - Coimbatore


Role Overview


A diversified organisation operating across manufacturing and retail is seeking a senior TA + HRBP leader to own end-to-end hiring and people partnering across plants, warehouses, retail outlets, and corporate teams. This role will be responsible for scaling frontline and leadership talent, strengthening people processes, and supporting business growth across multiple formats.


Key Responsibilities


Talent Acquisition Leadership


  • Own end-to-end hiring for manufacturing plants, warehouses, retail outlets, and corporate functions.
  • Lead hiring across frontline, supervisory, mid-management, and leadership roles (operators, supervisors, store staff, area managers, plant engineers, supply chain, quality, and HO roles).
  • Build scalable hiring engines using vendors, manpower agencies, ITIs/diploma institutes, campus hiring, local sourcing, and referrals.
  • Manage bulk hiring and seasonal ramp-ups for plants and retail locations.
  • Drive workforce planning, hiring budgets, TATs, offer-to-join ratios, and early attrition metrics.
  • Build and lead internal TA teams and external vendor ecosystems across locations.


HR Business Partnering


  • Act as a strategic HRBP to Plant Heads, Retail Operations Leaders, and Corporate Heads.
  • Partner with leadership on org design, manpower productivity, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Handle employee relations across shop-floor and retail environments, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and POSH.
  • Drive engagement and retention programs tailored for frontline and store-based workforce.


HR Operations & Compliance (Oversight)


  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, Factory Act, Shops & Establishments Act, and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee contract labour, manpower vendors, and statutory audits across plants and retail locations.
  • Partner with HR Ops on onboarding, documentation, and inspections.


Stakeholder Management


  • Plant Heads & Manufacturing Leadership
  • Retail Operations & Area Leadership
  • Supply Chain, Quality & Corporate Teams
  • Senior Management / CXO stakeholders
  • Finance for manpower planning and cost control


Candidate Profile


Must Have

  • 1218+ years of experience across Talent Acquisition and HRBP roles.
  • Strong exposure to manufacturing and/or retail hiring, including frontline and bulk hiring.
  • Hands-on experience with plant, warehouse, and retail/store workforce models.
  • Deep understanding of labour laws, Shops & Establishments, and employee relations.
  • Proven experience managing vendors and large distributed hiring programs.


Good to Have

  • Experience in multi-location, high-volume hiring environments.
  • Exposure to business consolidation, expansion, or turnaround phases.
