Head Procurement - Raw Material

Procurement Strategy :

• Able to understand the bigger business picture, recognize key issues, and assess how decisions impact internal operations and the external environment
• Design the procurement strategy in compliance with regulatory and related requirements
• Evaluate and modify procurement strategy to meet contingencies, sustainability and delivery issues in compliance with regulatory and other norms
• Prepare annual plan | budget based on production targets | business objectives
• Seeking input and suggestions from HODs for finalizing the plan | budget
• Negotiate best possible cost | price for raw material through use of data analytics
• Negotiate and finalize contracts, purchase orders, service orders to secure advantageous terms
• Persuade, influence and explore alternatives to reach outcomes to gain acceptance of concerned stakeholders in best interest of organization
• Analyze data using forecasting tools and methodologies to assess actual performance, quantify risks, develop and manage procurement budgets and review forecasts for accuracy
• Prepares forecasting reports | communications and disseminate them to various stakeholder groups as required
• Visualize, articulate and establish linkages between issues | engage with different perspectives for decision-making based on all available information through use of analytical tools & techniques
• Seek information and articulate multiple perspectives of concerned stakeholders | related agencies, identify the influences on those perspectives
• Closely monitors spend ratios and overall costs while leading initiatives to implement solutions that generate cost savings and improve efficiency.

Environment Scanning :

• Identify alternatives, suggest best options to meet raw material needs of the business, discuss with stakeholders and deploy supplier development strategy
• Remain alert to emerging issues and global trends that might impact business; analyzing data and connects the dots to derive essence
• Identify patterns, trends and root causes to anticipate potential challenges, and develop solutions and mitigation plans
• Utilize strategic sourcing skills & tools to facilitate supplier | vendor performance approval
• Participate | attend seminars, exhibitions, meets to identify potential suppliers, ascertain industry trends and spot opportunities to establish new service partnerships

Supply Development :

• Build relationships with suppliers | vendors to ensure continual service and develop network to ensure continued availability of required material for business operations
• Develop win-win strategies to achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
• Develop and manage supplier base including monitoring of supplier service matrix
• Participate in discussions of tender meetings for finalizing new vendors based on business needs
• Partner with business to finalize key vendors, materials, contracts including project requirements

Systems & Procedures | Compliance :

• Review and establish SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to enhance faster procurement of material in compliance with established guidelines
• Establish a practice of learning within function and Coaching & Mentor team on enhancing their professional and personal effectiveness
• Creates an enabling environment and opportunities for teams to learn and develop their capabilities
• Procure raw material in compliance with regulatory and safety, health and environmental norms
• Develop and implement supplier performance evaluation matrix
• Monitor the departmental procedures viz. purchase, inventory control, export commercial
