Job Description

Job Function Summary

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, inventory management (Stores), dispatch/logistics and material production planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, preferably in the electrical items industry, and will play a key role in ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.


Job Responsibilities

Strategic Supply Chain Management

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast demand and align supply capabilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Oversee the purchase department to ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and quality sourcing.
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics and develop strategic vendor relationships.

Inventory & Stores Management

  • Ensure accurate inventory records and implement inventory control systems.
  • Optimize stock levels to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Supervise stores operations including receiving, storage, and issuance of materials.

Dispatch & Logistics

  • Manage dispatch schedules to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners and internal teams for efficient transportation.
  • Monitor delivery performance and resolve logistics issues promptly.

Material & Production Planning

  • Create and manage production schedules based on sales forecasts and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely execution of manufacturing plans.
  • Monitor capacity utilization and adjust plans to optimize throughput.


Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred: Masters degree or certifications in SCM, Stores, Purchase Logistics, or Operations.
  • Minimum 16+ years of experience in manufacturing supply chain, preferably in manufacturing domain.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain software.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and inventory optimization.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
