Signalmash builds modern communications infrastructure for voice, messaging, WebRTC, and AI-enhanced workflows. Our platform blends open-source telecom technologies , distributed systems, and modern AI to deliver reliable APIs backed by real human support.

Were scaling quickly and hiring a hands-on technical leader to own our platform architecture and guide both outsourced and internal engineering teams.

You will be the primary technical owner of the Signalmash platform and responsible for:

• Platform architecture & evolution
• Leading internal + outsourced engineering teams
• Integrating open-source telecom components
• Building AI-powered features and automation
• Ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance
• Working directly with the executive leadership team

This is a senior, high-impact, architecture-driven role.

• Architect and evolve our real-time communications platform
• Lead design across SIP, RTP, WebRTC, messaging gateways, routing engines, and distributed backend services
• Work with open-source telecom systems such as:
• Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kannel, Jasmin, Janus, etc.
• Improve scalability, latency, observability, and failover
• Build internal tools for monitoring, diagnostics, routing intelligence, and security

• Lead outsourced development teams & build an internal engineering team
• Define engineering standards, architecture guidelines, and delivery processes
• Write specs, review designs, and mentor engineers
• Drive clarity, accountability, and technical excellence

• Design and integrate AI into telecom workflows
• Build intelligent routing, diagnostics, automation, fraud detection, developer tools
• Implement LLM integrations, RAG, vector search, and AI orchestration frameworks
• Optimize AI for performance, reliability, and cost
• Successfully integrate proven agentic coding tools into the development process

• Typically 7+ years of backend, systems, or platform engineering
• (Unless you're a prodigyability matters more than years.)
• Strong experience with telecom/RTC technologies:
• SIP, RTP, codecs, signaling, media servers, WebRTC, messaging gateways
• Hands-on experience with open-source telecom tools:
• Kamailio, OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, Asterisk, Kannel, Jasmin , etc.
• Strong backend engineering (Go, Python, Java, Node.js, or similar)
• Experience architecting distributed, fault-tolerant systems
• Experience managing outsourced + internal engineering teams
• Real experience integrating AI systems (LLMs, RAG, vector DBs, agents)
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken & written)
• Ability to overlap with US mornings & travel internationally

• CPaaS experience
• Multi-cloud / multi-region architecture
• Telecom analytics, routing optimization, or fraud detection
• Experience scaling engineering orgs
• Building internal automation or AI engineering tools
