Job Description
Location: Sanand/Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Reports to: Managing Director / Business Head Direct
Reportees: Lead Engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics), Lab Manager, and CAD/Design Team.
Role Objective: To spearhead the design, development, and optimization of KOELs fluid dynamics portfolio. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to innovate in the spaces of diesel engines (small BHP), electric motors, and centrifugal/submersible pumps, ensuring all products meet global standards for efficiency, cost competitiveness, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development & Innovation
- Pumps: Lead the hydraulic design and development of end-suction, split-case, and submersible pumps. Optimize Pump Performance Curves for maximum Best Efficiency Point (BEP).
- Engines & Motors: Oversee the integration of small diesel engines and electric motors as prime movers for pumping systems, focusing on fuel efficiency and thermal management.
- Electronics Integration: Drive the adoption of IoT and "Smart Pump" technologies (remote monitoring, automated pressure sensors).
2. Strategic Leadership
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team in Sanand.
- Manage the R&D budget, including investments in prototyping and testing infrastructure.
- Define the technology roadmap for the next 35 years, identifying shifts toward EV-driven motors or sustainable fuels.
3. Engineering Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure all designs comply with IS/ISO standards and BEE star labeling requirements.
- Implement robust Value Engineering (VAVE) to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising quality.
- Oversee the testing lab to ensure rigorous validation of head, flow, and power parameters.
Candidate Profile:
- Education B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Mechanical or Fluid Engineering.
- Experience 1520 years in R&D, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the pump or engine industry.
- Technical Skills Proficiency in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), SolidWorks/Creo, and MATLAB. Deep understanding of pump hydraulics, motor windings, and diesel engine combustion.
- Proven track record of taking a product from "napkin sketch" to mass production.
