ROLE INTENT
The Head of Performance Marketing leads MAGs paid media function for clients owning platform strategy, campaign architecture, ad set structures, targeting logic, creative testing, optimisation, and performance reporting.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will guide the team, raise media excellence, and ensure every account runs with clarity, discipline, and repeatable performance frameworks.
YOUR GROWTH MILESTONES
In 3 Months Bring Structure & Control
- Audit all ad accounts across Meta / YouTube / LinkedIn/Google (and others if needed)
- Standardise campaign naming, structure, tracking and reporting formats
- Create clear performance playbooks: testing, optimisation, learning loops
- Define channel roles per client (awareness vs traffic vs lead-gen vs remarketing)
In 6 Months Improve Performance Quality
- Implement systematic creative testing (hooks, formats, messaging, audiences)
- Strengthen targeting strategy and audience segmentation
- Improve cost efficiency and lead quality (where applicable)
- Set up dashboards and weekly performance rhythms with Account Directors
In 12 Months Build a Best-in-Class Media Function
- Establish MAGs signature paid media approach (platform-native, data-led, creative-first)
- Build high-performing team capability (training, reviews, QA checks)
- Lead client strategy conversations on channel mix, budget split, and platform roadmaps
- Develop scalable SOPs for onboarding new performance clients quickly
WHAT YOULL DO
- Own platform strategy across Meta Ads, YouTube/Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads (and others as required)
Build and oversee campaign architecture:
- account structure, campaign objectives, ad set strategy, audience buckets, retargeting flows
Define testing frameworks:
- creative testing plans, hypothesis-led experiments, learning agendas
Guide the creative/content teams with performance inputs:
- whats working, why its working, and what to build next
Optimise and QA campaigns daily/weekly:
- budget pacing, bid strategies, placements, targeting, frequency, creatives
Ensure strong tracking and measurement:
- pixels, events, UTMs, conversion setup, lead forms, landing page recommendations
- Lead weekly/monthly reporting with actionable insights (not vanity metrics)
- Manage and mentor performance executives/managers; set review standards and output quality
- Support pitches with platform plans, sample funnels, and performance frameworks
