Head of Marketing ( Experience - ONLY FROM QSR INDUSTRY )
Location : Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Reporting To: Directors
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of this job has three parts, A) to create, and be responsible for, the marketing calendar of each brand, and to drive the business using data, consumer insights, and market competition. And B) to lead and manage the day-to-day marketing activities of the organization to achieve the marketing strategy for the company. C) To bring creative solutions & ideas of how to drive sales, create awareness & grow the business within a tight budget, in a increasing competitive QSR space. This person will be responsible for managing KFC, Pizza Hut, BAO Caf. & CIP Lounge.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
To develop a marketing calendar for each brand per year
To manage the internal marketing team to assist in executing the day-to-day marketing tasks for each brand
Develop and implement a restaurant marketing (LRM) strategy for the restaurants ensuring alignment with
international marketing campaigns (as and when necessary).
Provide detailed analysis and learnings on the effectiveness of LRM programs.
Collate and evaluate learnings locally and internationally from Yum brands, Pizza Hut, KFC and the competition.
Monitor and report on LRM competitor activity nationally in Tanzania and East Africa.
Build LRM Know How and capability in restaurants.
Ensuring all Restaurant Marketing complies with all relevant legislation.
Develop, maintain and communicate marketing guidelines for each brand
Develop, recommend & execute marketing objectives, policies, strategies, budgets and plans designed to achieve
approved growth, revenue and profit targets, including detailed marketing plans featuring advertising, promotion,
product mix, pricing, expenditure for these segments.
Report on sales/ marketing performance against budget and forecast.
Consult and liaise with operations, technical, finance, training and SCM to enable effective execution and
maximization of marketing/sales programmes.
Maintain each brands Digital Platforms (SEO, Social Media, Website etc) through constant monitoring, social care
and ensuring utmost brand protection.
Brief and approve work undertaken by agencies and consultants & approve expenditure within budget and
authority.
Report and Present on work undertaken by agencies and consultants.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)
- Restaurants are hitting their budgets
- Increase brand awareness and loyalty
- Increase in transactions
Stakeholder Coordination:
Internal: LT - RSC , Operations, Marketing, Finance, SCM and All RGM and Team Members.
External: Franchisor, New Location LL, Beverage Partners, Vendors, Municipality, Local Govt Offices, Advertising/PR Agency, Public Research
Education:
A completed tertiary qualification in Commerce
Experience:
Min 5 years overall experience in a marketing and operations function with an emphasis on retail and/or FMCG company
Corporate and/or strategic business planning, branding, advertising, sales promotion, product development, pricing, market research
Comprehensive knowledge on Digital Media execution.
Excellent communication and influencing skills; & high work ethic with the ability to work under pressure and overcome adversity
Understanding of Budgetary Reporting with ability to present market statistics
Demonstrated motivation to also be hands on in the field to execute marketing plans
Interpersonal Skills
Note: Must have a current drivers licence.
