Role Overview
We're hiring a Head of Marketing Agency Operations / COO to be the operational backbone of our agency. This is a leadership role where you'll own the end-to-end delivery engine from client onboarding and account management to team performance and project execution. You'll work directly with the founder to scale operations, improve margins, systematize delivery, and ensure every client engagement drives real business outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who has grown within agency environments, understands the chaos and rhythm of multi-client delivery, and knows how to turn that into a well-oiled machine.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Account Management
- Own the delivery lifecycle across all client accounts - onboarding, strategy alignment, execution, reporting, and renewals
- Serve as the escalation point for client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and retention
- Ensure marketing projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with client pipeline goals
- Drive quarterly business reviews and performance reporting with clients
Team Management & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team spanning SEO, content, paid media, design, video, and social
- Build a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs, accountability, and professional development paths
- Handle hiring, onboarding, and capacity planning as the agency scales
- Foster collaboration across departments to deliver integrated campaigns
Operations & Process Excellence
- Design and optimize SOPs, workflows, and project management frameworks for repeatable, scalable delivery
- Implement and manage tools for project tracking, time management, resource allocation, and quality assurance
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track team utilization, project profitability, and delivery health
- Identify bottlenecks and operational risks before they impact client outcomes
Strategic Contribution
- Partner with the founder on agency growth strategy, service packaging, and pricing decisions
- Contribute to new business pitches and proposal development with delivery feasibility and resourcing insights
- Help shape the agency's transition from consulting-led to productized service delivery
- Drive operational efficiencies to maintain and improve profit margins
Requirements
Must-Have
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience with mandatory marketing agency experience (not negotiable)
- Proven track record in account management - managing multiple client relationships simultaneously
- Demonstrated team management experience - leading cross-functional marketing teams of 8+ people
- Hands-on experience delivering marketing projects to clients, including SEO, content marketing, paid campaigns, social media, or demand generation
- Strong understanding of B2B marketing channels, metrics, and what good delivery looks like
- Excellent communication skills - ability to manage client expectations, lead internal standups, and present confidently
Strong Plus
- Experience working with B2B tech, SaaS, or IT services clients
- Familiarity with pipeline-driven marketing and revenue attribution
- Experience with project management tools like Asana, Monday.com, ClickUp, or similar
- Understanding of agency economics - utilization rates, margins, and resource planning
- Experience scaling an agency from a small team to a larger operation

Work Arrangement
- Work from Office (remote opportunity available for the first 3 months)
- 6-day work week (Monday to Saturday)
