Job Description

Objective of the role:


To lead and drive the organizations IT strategy and digital ecosystem for a B2B / B2C digital commerce business, enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing operations aligned with the companys aggressive 3X growth plan over the next three years. The organization is a 100-year-old multinational that has acquired an Indian company and is undergoing a massive transformation, making this role critical in driving change and modernization. The role will focus on building robust online platforms, delivering seamless customer journeys, and enabling data-driven decision-making, while ensuring strong IT governance and infrastructure. Prior experience in supporting high-growth, B2B-driven digital businesses will be critical to success in this role.


Roles & responsibility:


1. IT Strategy & Digital Commerce Transformation

  • Define and execute the IT and digital roadmap aligned with B2B e-commerce growth and business expansion.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives focused on platform scalability, automation, and customer experience.
  • Align local IT strategy with global IT frameworks and governance standards.


2. B2B Digital Platform & Commerce Management

  • Own end-to-end management of B2B e-commerce platforms, customer portals, and partner ecosystems.
  • Ensure seamless online ordering, pricing, inventory visibility, and order-to-cash processes.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of platform performance, UX/UI, and customer engagement.
  • Enable integration with distributors, dealers, and enterprise customers.


3. Applications & Systems Integration

  • Oversee ERP, CRM, SCM, and other enterprise systems integration with digital commerce platforms.
  • Ensure real-time data flow across systems for efficient business operations.
  • Lead API-driven architecture and microservices adoption for scalability.


4. Data Management & Analytics

  • Establish strong data governance, master data management, and data quality frameworks.
  • Drive advanced analytics, dashboards, and BI tools for business insights and forecasting.
  • Enable personalization and data-driven customer engagement strategies.


5. IT Infrastructure & Cloud Operations

  • Manage scalable IT infrastructure including cloud platforms, hosting environments, and networks.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and uptime of digital commerce platforms.
  • Lead cloud-first strategy and infrastructure modernization initiatives.


6. Cybersecurity & Digital Risk Management

  • Implement robust cybersecurity frameworks to protect digital platforms and customer data.
  • Ensure compliance with global data privacy and security standards (GDPR, ISO, etc.).
  • Manage threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.


7. IT Governance & Compliance

  • Establish IT governance, policies, and SOPs aligned with global best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements.
  • Manage IT budgets, vendor partnerships, and technology investments effectively.


8. IT Operations & Service Delivery

  • Oversee IT operations, helpdesk, and user support across business functions.
  • Ensure strong SLAs, system uptime, and continuous service improvement.
  • Drive automation in IT service management processes.


9. Stakeholder & Business Collaboration

  • Partner with sales, marketing, and business teams to enhance digital commerce capabilities.
  • Act as a bridge between India operations and global IT teams.
  • Drive change management and adoption of digital platforms.


10. Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build and lead a high-performing IT and digital team.
  • Develop capabilities in digital commerce technologies, cloud, data, and cybersecurity.
  • Foster innovation, agility, and a customer-centric mindset within the team.


Candidate Requirement


  • 1825 years of IT experience with 5+ years in leadership roles (Head of IT / CIO / IT Director).
  • Strong experience in B2B Digital Commerce / B2B E-commerce environments.
  • Proven track record in IT transformation and high-growth (scale-up) organizations.
  • Expertise in enterprise applications (ERP, CRM), digital platforms, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience in building and managing B2B online platforms / customer portals / marketplace ecosystems.
  • Strong exposure to system integration (ERPCRMDigital platforms) and API-based architecture.
  • Experience in cloud environments and scalable IT infrastructure.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to support digital revenue and platform-led growth.
  • Experience working with multinational organizations / global stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership, team management, and change management capabilities.
