Job Title: Head of Human Resources

Location: Mumbai, India

Industry: Agri Commodities / FMCG

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reporting To: CEO / Managing Director


Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Human Resources to lead the HR function for a growing Agri Commodities company based in Mumbai with operations and talent requirements across multiple international markets. The role will be responsible for developing and executing HR strategies, managing workforce operations across multiple locations, and supporting the organizations global expansion.

The ideal candidate must have strong Industrial Relations (IR) experience, proven stakeholder management capabilities, and experience managing HR across manufacturing plants, warehouses, and trading offices. Additionally, the candidate should have experience in international hiring across regions such as India, Middle East, Bangladesh, Africa


Experience in Agri Commodities, Food Processing, Trading, or FMCG sectors will be a strong advantage.


Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement the companys HR strategy aligned with business growth and operational objectives.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on people strategy, workforce planning, and organizational development.
  • Lead initiatives related to talent management, succession planning, and leadership development.

Industrial Relations (Mandatory)

  • Manage Industrial Relations (IR) across plants, warehouses, and operational sites.
  • Lead union negotiations, handle grievance management, and ensure effective dispute resolution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with unions, labor representatives, and government authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and factory regulations.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with senior leadership, plant heads, regional managers, and business heads across locations.
  • Provide HR guidance to business leaders to support operational performance and workforce productivity.
  • Build strong collaboration between corporate HR and operational teams.

International Hiring & Global Talent Acquisition

  • Lead international recruitment and talent acquisition for key roles across regions including but not limited Middle East, West, East and central Africa, the UK, US, Canada, Etc.
  • Develop hiring strategies for international markets including trading offices, regional hubs, and operational roles.
  • Manage cross-border hiring processes including visa coordination, relocation, and compliance.
  • Build strong global talent pipelines to support the companys international growth.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Oversee recruitment strategies across corporate, operational, and plant roles.
  • Ensure availability of skilled workforce across trading, procurement, supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with business leaders to forecast workforce requirements and hiring needs.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR operations including policies, payroll coordination, performance management, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR regulations across all operating locations.
  • Implement standardized HR policies and best practices across regions.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives across corporate and operational teams.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture with strong emphasis on accountability and collaboration.
  • Implement programs to improve retention, leadership capability, and employee development.


Key Requirements

  • Education: MBA / Postgraduate Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Experience: 1218+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Industry Experience: Agri Commodities, Food Processing, Trading, Manufacturing, or FMCG preferred.
  • Mandatory Expertise: Strong Industrial Relations (IR) experience with union and labor management.
  • Proven experience managing HR across multiple locations and operational sites.
  • Experience in international hiring across regions such as Middle East, Africa, India and Bangladesh
  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws, factory laws, and HR compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
