Head of Finance

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Head of Finance to lead day to day finance and accounting

operations across our multi-entity, cross-border structure. This role will report directly to

the Director of Finance and will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong

internal controls, audit readiness, and disciplined execution across the finance function.

This role serves as the operational anchor of the finance organization, ensuring discipline,

accuracy, and transparency across all internal finance activities, while escalating insights and

issues to the Director of Finance in a timely and structured manner. The Head of Finance Internal

Operations is responsible for overseeing and controlling the companys internal finance function,

ensuring daily cash visibility, robust Excel based reporting, accurate investment tracking, statutory

compliance (India), and audit readiness across entities.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Oversight:

Own and oversee day-to-day internal finance operations across multiple legal entities,

with specific accountability for cash visibility, accounting accuracy, and reporting

discipline.

Ensure accurate maintenance of books of accounts, including intercompany balances,

capital movements, loan schedules, EMIs, and related reconciliations.

Review and sign off on monthly, quarterly, and annual management financials prior to

submission to the Director of Finance.

Maintain oversight of daily MIS and internal finance work status, ensuring issues are

identified and escalated promptly.

Reporting & Controls:

Oversee the preparation of Excel-based management and board-level MIS, including cash

flow statements, expense trackers, investment trackers, and liability schedules.

Ensure all internal reports are accurate, timely, consistently structured, and audit-ready.

Establish and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, documentation standards,

and SOPs across the internal finance function.

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, or equivalent), in

coordination with the Director of Finance on technical matters.

Audit, Compliance & Governance:

Act as the primary coordination point for internal and external audits, including

preparation and review of schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.

Ensure continuous audit readiness across entities and timely closure of audit observations.

Oversee statutory compliance in India, including coordination with legal, compliance, and

external advisors.

Support governance and regulatory reviews as required.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

Maintain oversight of daily cash positions and bank balances, with clear visibility on

inflows, outflows, and near-term obligations.

Review and validate daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow statements prepared by the

internal finance team.

Monitor loan EMIs, interest payments, and other financial liabilities to ensure timely

servicing.

Identify and escalate cash shortfalls, surpluses, or timing mismatches to senior

management.

Ensure discipline and transparency in intercompany funding and internal cash

movements.

Investment & Return Tracking:

Oversee tracking of corporate investments across equity, debt, fixed deposits, funds, and

other instruments.

Monitor investment returns, maturity dates, expected inflows, and realized cash

movements.

Review periodic investment performance summaries prepared for management.

Oversee documentation, reconciliation, and audit trails for investment-related records,

including approved director-level investments where applicable.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance (India):

Oversee GST compliance, including review of data prepared for returns, reconciliations

with books and vendors, and coordination with tax consultants.

Monitor direct tax compliance, including TDS, advance tax, and statutory filings.

Act as the primary liaison with external CA firms and tax advisors to ensure statutory

timelines and requirements are met.

Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

Manage and mentor the internal finance and accounting team, reviewing outputs and

enforcing quality and accuracy standards.

Provide hands-on technical guidance where required and step in to resolve complex

issues.

Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, improve controls, and enhance efficiency

in internal finance workflows.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with investment, operations, and compliance teams to support internal

reporting and information requirements.

Serve as a dependable execution partner to the Director of Finance on internal reviews,

special projects, and ad-hoc analyses.

Working Style & Tools:

Highly execution-oriented role with significant hands-on involvement in Microsoft Excel.

Regular work with unstructured or partially available data requiring independent

judgment and clean structuring.

Expectation to build and review schedules, trackers, reconciliations, and ad-hoc analyses

without reliance on system-generated outputs alone.

Best suited for professionals who operate comfortably with limited hand-holding and take

ownership of outcomes

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.

CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.

Experience:

58+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within private

equity, investment management, or complex multi-entity environments.

Demonstrated experience managing teams and overseeing multi-jurisdictional

accounting structures.

Strong exposure to audits, internal controls, and cross-border financial operations.

Skills:

Deep understanding of accounting standards and financial controls.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Tally Prime, QuickBooks, or similar.

Strong attention to detail, paired with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
