Hi,
The Director Finance will be a strategic partner to the leadership team, responsible for driving financial strategy, M&A initiatives, compliance, fundraising, and overall fiscal governance. This role demands strong business acumen, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-growing, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Identify strategic M&A opportunities aligned with business objectives. Lead end-to-end deal lifecycle target evaluation, financial modelling, due diligence, valuation, negotiations, and transaction closure. Build business cases, risk assessments, and integration plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Manage relationships with investment bankers, advisors, legal teams, and industry partners.
2. Accounts & Finance Management Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Strengthen internal financial controls, cash-flow planning, and treasury operations. Drive cost optimization initiatives, unit economics analysis, and profitability improvement across product lines. Provide strategic insights to management through data-driven analysis and MIS dashboards.
3. Fundraising & Investor Relations Drive equity and debt fundraising initiatives to fuel growth. Prepare investor materials pitch decks, financial models, projections, and business plans.
Engage with current and prospective investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners. Manage due diligence, documentation, and compliance related to fundraising. Support board presentations and investor reporting.
4. Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, regulatory, and audit requirements (Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, FEMA, etc.). Oversee secretarial function in collaboration with legal & CS teams. Drive timely closure of internal, statutory, and external audits. Implement risk-management frameworks and strengthen corporate governance practices.
Manage compliance for subsidiaries, JV entities, and international operations as applicable.
5. Strategic Leadership Contribute to long-term business strategy and financial planning. Serve as a financial advisor to the founders and the leadership team. Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team to build strong internal capability. Drive systems implementation, automation, and process improvements to scale with companys growth.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) Mandatory
- 15-20 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles
- Strong experience in M&A transactions, fundraising, and financial modelling.
- Proven track record in building and managing full-stack finance functions.
- Deep knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in manufacturing, climate-tech, agri-tech, or similar high-growth sectors is an advantage
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
