Position Overview - GridCrest Technologies is seeking a seasoned General Manager Finance, Accounts & Internal Processes, based in Kolkata, to lead the finance function during a phase of rapid growth and large-scale smart metering deployments. The role will drive financial strategy, accounting, compliance, internal controls, and business case development, with particular emphasis on RDSS-linked smart meter tenders involving complex CAPEX, OPEX (open), and hybrid commercial models.

The role reports jointly to the CEO of GridCrest Technologies and the CFO of the Kaynes Group, and partners closely with business, operations, and group leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

Lead overall finance, accounts, and internal process functions for GridCrest Technologies.

Partner with CEO and Group CFO on financial strategy, growth planning, and capital structuring. Overall custodian of complete ERP system. Must be technology and computer savvy.

Drive budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, and cash flow management.

RDSS & other g lobal Tenders & Business Case Development

Own financial evaluation and business case preparation for large smart metering tenders under RDSS with input from CCO. This position needs very close interaction with CCO.

Build and present financial models covering CAPEX, OPEX (open), and hybrid structures, including:

ROI, IRR, NPV, payback, and sensitivity analysis

Funding and working capital impact

Risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Present business cases to internal leadership, group management, and external stakeholders as required.

Accounting, Compliance & Governance

Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closures.

Oversee statutory compliance including GST, income tax, audits, and regulatory filings.

Ensure alignment with Kaynes Group governance, controls, and reporting standards.

Manage internal and external audits to closure.

Internal Processes & Controls

Design and strengthen internal controls, SOPs, and financial processes to support scale.

Enhance risk management, approval frameworks, and financial discipline.

Ensure ERP effectiveness and data integrity (SAP or equivalent).

Business Partnering

Act as finance partner to sales, projects, supply chain, and operations.

Support pricing, contract reviews, and commercial negotiations from a financial risk perspective.

Track project financials for large deployments and protect margins and cash flows.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 46 finance and accounts professionals.

Build a high-performance, governance-driven finance function.

Qualifications & Experience

CA / CMA (India) preferred; MBA (Finance) with strong accounting background may be considered.

15+ years of experience in finance, accounting, and business finance roles.

Experience in infrastructure, utilities, power, smart metering, EPC, or project-based businesses.

Strong exposure to RDSS or government / utility-led tender programs.

Proven capability in CAPEXOPEX financial modelling and long-term contract evaluation.

Experience working within a listed group or strong governance environment.
