Job Description

Head of Finance (HoF) / Finance Controller


Location: Peenya, Bengaluru

Reporting to: Managing Director / CEO

Key Interfaces: COO, Plant Head, HeadQuality, Supply Chain, External Auditors, Banks, Customers, Tax Consultants



Role Objective


The Head of Finance will be responsible for end-to-end financial governance, cost control, compliance, cash flow management, and strategic financial planning for MSA Global Technology & Engineering Pvt. Ltd.

The role is critical in protecting margins, improving capital efficiency, supporting export growth, and preparing the company for future scale (Tier-1, assemblies, and potential fund raise post-2027).



Key Responsibilities


1. Daily Responsibilities

Monitor daily cash position, bank balances, and fund availability

Track receivables, payables, and overdue follow-ups (especially export customers)

Authorize daily payments aligned to approved budgets and priorities

Ensure ERP discipline correct posting of invoices, GRNs, job costs, and expenses

Review shop-floor cost leakages (scrap, rework, machine idle cost, overtime impact)

Coordinate with Supply Chain on advance payments, LC terms, import duties, forex exposure



2. Weekly Responsibilities

Weekly cash flow forecast (812 weeks rolling)

Review WIP valuation, job profitability, and order-wise margin

Conduct weekly MIS review with CEO/COO:

Revenue vs plan

Contribution margin per customer / part family

Overheads vs budget

Review inventory levels (RM, WIP, FG) and slow-moving stock

Monitor forex exposure and hedging requirements

Track compliance calendar (GST, TDS, PF, ESI, customs, export incentives)



3. Monthly Responsibilities

Finalize monthly accounts closure within defined timelines

Prepare detailed MIS pack, including:

P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow

Cost center analysis

Customer & program-wise profitability

Review capex utilization, depreciation, ROI on machines

Analyze machine hour costing and update standard costs

Review loan covenants, interest costs, and repayment schedules (SIDBI)

GST returns, TDS filings, and statutory compliance review

Support Quality & Operations in costing for FAIs, PPAPs, and long-cycle aerospace programs



4. Quarterly Responsibilities

Lead budget vs actual analysis and corrective action planning

Review pricing assumptions for long-term aerospace contracts

Support management in make vs buy decisions

Evaluate working capital optimization opportunities

Prepare board-level financial decks and insights

Review insurance coverage, risk exposure, and claims



5. Annual Responsibilities

Lead annual budgeting & 35 year financial planning aligned to MSA strategy

Manage statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit

Finalize transfer pricing / export documentation (if applicable)

Support future fund-raising readiness:

Data room preparation

Financial models

Investor / lender discussions

Evaluate new business lines (assemblies, Tier-1 supply, export expansion)

Lead cost-reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives

Ensure compliance with aerospace customer financial expectations



Strategic Responsibilities (Critical for MSA)

Act as financial conscience of the organization challenge assumptions, protect margins

Translate aerospace complexity (long lead times, FAIs, scrap risk) into robust financial controls

Drive profitability without compromising quality or compliance

Prepare MSA financially for global aerospace customers and audits

Support leadership in transitioning from entrepreneur-driven finance to process-driven finance

Candidate Profile


Qualification

CA (Mandatory)

Additional exposure to Costing / CFA / MBA Finance preferred


Experience

1015+ years in manufacturing finance

Strong preference for aerospace / automotive / precision engineering

Experience handling exports, forex, and long-cycle programs

Prior exposure to ERP-driven manufacturing environments
