Role Overview

We are hiring a Head of Engineering Strategy, Transformation & Delivery to play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and executing the engineering vision for a global lottery and digital platforms ecosystem. As part of the India leadership team, this role will be accountable for driving engineering strategy, transformation initiatives, and delivery excellence across large-scale product platforms and value-added digital services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute the India Engineering Strategy aligned with global technology and product roadmaps.
• Partner with global Product, Architecture, and Technology leaders to shape next-generation platforms and digital services.
• Build a scalable, agile, and innovation-driven engineering operating model.
• Translate enterprise goals into actionable engineering priorities with measurable outcomes.

2. Engineering Delivery Excellence

• Lead end-to-end engineering delivery across multiple global product lines.
• Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery within timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
• Establish strong delivery governance, program management frameworks, and execution standards.
• Oversee project planning, sprint execution, resource optimization, and risk management.
• Align delivery with evolving customer, business, and regulatory requirements

3. Transformation & Modernization

• Drive large-scale technology transformation initiatives, including:
• Platform modernization
• DevSecOps maturity
• CI/CD automation
• Cloud adoption
• API-driven and microservices architectures
• Lead engineering excellence programs to improve development velocity, code quality, reliability, and scalability.
• Embed data-driven delivery metrics and performance analytics for continuous improvement.
• Introduce emerging technologies such as AI, analytics, and automation to strengthen product innovation.

4. Capability Building & Culture

• Build and scale a high-performing engineering organization by attracting, developing, and retaining top-tier talent.
• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, collaboration, and accountability.
• Mentor senior engineering leaders to strengthen technical and leadership depth.
• Champion diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement across the engineering organization.

5. Governance, Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the strategic interface between India Engineering and global technology & product leadership.
• Provide regular executive-level updates on strategy, delivery progress, risks, and transformation milestones.
• Manage strategic vendor partnerships to augment capability and delivery performance.
• Ensure strong alignment between engineering priorities and global business outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

• 18+ years of experience in software engineering, technology delivery, or product development.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing large, distributed engineering teams.
• Proven success delivering and transforming complex, global-scale platforms.
• Deep expertise in:
• Agile & SDLC
• Backend architecture & microservices
• Cloud-native and DevSecOps practices
• Automation and platform engineering
• Strong program governance, delivery assurance, and stakeholder management experience.
• Strategic thinker with strong execution ability in fast-paced environments.
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering / Computer Science (MBA preferred).
