About the Role
The Head of Engineering will be responsible for ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient engineering operations across multiple manufacturing units located in and around Indore. This role will lead all electrical installations & utilities like Compressor etc ensuring high plant uptime, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement aligned with modern and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for smooth engineering operations across multiple units including , Dyeing & Apparels manufacturing
- Lead and manage electrical systems, utilities, and infrastructure including boilers, compressors, ETP, and other utility plants
- Ensure optimal operation, maintenance, and commissioning of boilers, compressors, power distribution systems, and utilities
- Oversee design, installation, commissioning, and operation of Captive Solar Power projects and other renewable energy initiatives
- Drive sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency, water conservation, emissions reduction, and compliance with environmental norms
- Manage Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations ensuring statutory compliance and operational efficiency
- Plan and execute installation, expansion, and modernization of utility plants including boilers and allied systems
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and plant uptime
- Manage engineering budgets, capex planning, and cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, safety, and environmental regulations
- Lead, mentor, and develop engineering and utility teams across units
- Coordinate with production, compliance, ESG, and external vendors to support operational and sustainability goals
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 15 years of total experience, with at least 10 years in textile manufacturing
- Demonstrated experience in handling ETP operations, captive solar projects, boiler installations, and utility plant management in large manufacturing setups
Required Skills
- Strong technical expertise in Electrical Engineering and Utilities management
- Hands-on experience with boilers, compressors, ETP, and utility plant operations
- Proven experience in captive solar power projects and renewable energy installations
- Strong understanding of sustainable manufacturing practices and ESG requirements
- Excellent leadership, planning, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Strong problem-solving, project management, and decision-making abilities
