Head of Engineering (Early stage B2B Startup)

We are partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company building a category-defining platform at the intersection of AI, data, and manufacturing.

The company is entering a high-growth phase and is looking for a CTO to own technology vision, execution, and team-building from a leadership seat.

About the Role :

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has built and scaled complex products, preferably in AI-first startups or AI-led manufacturing / industrial tech environments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Own the end-to-end technology strategy, architecture, and roadmap aligned with long-term business goals
• Build, scale, and mentor a high-performing engineering and data team
• Lead development of highly scalable, reliable, and secure systems handling large volumes of data and transactions
• Drive adoption of AI/ML systems across products, operations, or manufacturing workflows (as applicable)
• Partner closely with founders, product, and business leaders to translate vision into execution
• Make critical decisions around build vs buy, tech stack evolution, and platform scalability
• Establish strong engineering culture, processes, and best practices (code quality, security, DevOps, MLOps)
• Act as the technology face of the company in conversations with investors, partners, and senior stakeholders

What Were Looking For :

• 1218 years of experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or applied AI
• Prior experience as CTO / VP Engineering / Head of Engineering or equivalent senior role
• Strong background in building scalable products from early to growth stages

Hands-on experience with:

• Cloud-native architectures (AWS / GCP / Azure)
• Distributed systems, data platforms, and APIs
• AI/ML systems in production (model deployment, monitoring, iteration)

Preferred: Experience in:

• Building or scaling an AI startup, OR
• Leading technology in an AI-led manufacturing / industrial / deep-tech startup
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to attract, retain, and inspire top talent
• Strategic thinker who can still go deep technically when needed
