What You Will Do

As Head of Engineering / CTO, you will own Lemonpeels technical vision, execution, and culture end-to-end

• Architect and scale a production-grade, multi-model AI orchestration platform
• Build and ship applied AI systems, not research demos
• Design, deploy, and maintain LLM-powered agents used in real customer workflows
• Own system design across frontend canvas, backend orchestration, async pipelines, and GPU workloads
• Lead integration and deployment of models via Fal, Replicate, Runware, and custom inference stacks
• Work hands-on with LLMs from Hugging Face, including inference, fine-tuning, and LoRA-based training
• Build robust agent pipelines (tool-calling, memory, routing, retries, observability)
• Make hard trade-offs between latency, cost, reliability, and output quality
• Partner closely with founders on product decisions, infra costs, and long-term architecture
• Hire, mentor, and lead a small, elite engineering team as we scale

This is not a strategy-only role. You will code, deploy, debug, and scale systems yourself.

The Ideal Candidate

Were looking for a maverick problem-solver, opinionated but humble, ambitious but grounded.

You likely have:

• 10+ years of engineering experience , ideally across startups or zero-to-one products
• Strong background in Applied AI (shipping AI systems used by real users)
• Experience building production-grade AI agents (LLMs + tools + workflows)
• Hands-on experience with Hugging Face models, LoRA fine-tuning, or custom inference
• Deep understanding of AI infra platforms like Fal, Replicate, Runware (or equivalents)
• Comfort writing and owning production-quality code (non-negotiable)
• Solid grasp of distributed systems, async processing, queues, GPUs, and cloud infra
• Experience designing systems that dont fall apart under scale
• Clear written and verbal communication in English
• A bias toward ownership, clarity, and execution over buzzwords
• FAANG experience is a strong plus, but not a requirement. We care more about what youve built than where youve worked.
