BE / BTech / ME / MTech in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering

Job Description:

The role is responsible for leading the entire Design projects and associated teams. Should

have strong working knowledge in Automotive Design projects, ensuring high-quality design delivery aligned with global OEM standards. The incumbent will manage customer engagements, mentor design teams, and drive design excellence across programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the project teams executing design programs

Drive design reviews and design optimization

Ensure design feasibility, manufacturability and cost effectiveness

Lead multiple design teams, providing guidance and support to optimize workflows, enhance

productivity, ensure quality and timely deliveries.

Develop and implement best practices and continual improvement programs to drive project

time and cost efficiencies.

Project & Delivery Management:

Manage execution of multiple design programs across customers

Track milestones, ensure on-time delivery, and maintain data quality

Coordinate with internal and customer teams

People Leadership:

Develop and lead teams for effective response to customer and business requirements.

Develop and deploy comprehensive project management, productivity and competency

management processes.

Set up the KPIs, evaluate performance of the team members and recommend corrective

actions where ever necessary to ensure optimal skills and performance levels.

Customer & Business Engagement:

Act as the primary technical interface with customer design teams.

Participate in technical reviews, issue resolution, and design discussions.

Support presales and business growth through technical inputs.

Experience Required

Experience of working as part of a global organization, preferably a Japanese organization with matrix structure.

Experience of having worked with multicultural teams and customers.

8+ years experience of leading and mentoring Design teams.

Tool knowledge:

Hands-on expertise in CATIA V5 / V6 and / or NX and knowledge of other popular CAD tools
