Job Description
Were looking for a Head of Design to own the brands visual and creative identity translating strategy into design systems, campaigns, packaging, and digital experiences that are cohesive, high-performing, and built for scale.
Youll lead and mentor the design team, work closely with Marketing & Growth leadership, and ensure every creative output from Instagram posts to packaging to UI ladders back to brand and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Brand Stewardship & Visual Identity
- Guard and evolve brand guidelines for aesthetic consistency, accessibility, and relevance.
- Create scalable visual systems across digital, packaging, and retail.
- Collaborate with marketing and content to maintain a clear communication hierarchy across all creatives.
2. Design Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor designers, editors, and future hires; foster ownership, speed, and quality.
- Build workflows for efficient asset production without compromising creativity.
- Balance creative exploration with structured delegation and review systems.
3. Marketing & Performance Design
- Translate marketing objectives (TOFU / MOFU / BOFU) into distinct design directions for each stage of the funnel.
- Build templates and systems for social, ads, website, and CRM assets to ensure consistency at scale.
- Partner with Marketing to ensure design drives measurable outcomes CTR, engagement, conversion.
4. Product, Packaging & UX
- Lead design for new product packaging and rebranding initiatives.
- Ensure packaging communicates both brand identity and functional clarity.
- Oversee UI/UX for website and digital experiences in collaboration with developers.
5. Strategic Collaboration
- Act as the creative bridge between marketing, product, and consumer insight.
- Present design concepts with rationale linking aesthetic decisions to consumer behaviour and brand KPIs.
- Stay ahead of design, sustainability, and beauty-industry trends to keep the brand relevant.
First 12-Month Outcomes
- A clearly documented and enforced brand design system.
- Streamlined asset creation with 25% faster turnaround time.
- Improved communication clarity across ads, social, and website.
- At least one successful packaging redesign or refresh delivered end-to-end.
- Strong team rhythm with clear briefs, faster reviews, and minimal rework.
Ideal Profile
- 8+ years of design experience, including 3+ years leading teams.
- Strong background in graphic design; proficient in Adobe CC / Figma / motion tools.
- Proven experience in branding, packaging, and digital design for consumer brands (beauty / FMCG / D2C preferred).
- Understanding of UI/UX principles and user journey mapping.
- Creative strategist with business empathy able to translate data and intent into design logic.
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership, founder-led environments.
