Job Description
Position Overview Design & Control Tower Head
The Design & Control Tower Head is responsible for designing and operationalizing the control tower framework, defining end-to-end SCM and Procurement process flows, and driving operational transformation through data-led governance. This role also leads the EHS charter for the supply chain function, ensuring safe processes, regulatory compliance, and adherence to global ZEISS standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Control Tower Design & Metrics
- Design, build, and implement a robust Control Tower framework for end-to-end supply chain visibility.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics across planning, procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
- Implement proactive alerting systems, SLA tracking, and root-cause analysis mechanisms.
- Integrate data from ERP, WMS, TMS, and other systems to enable real-time decision support.
2. Drive Operations Using Control Tower Metrics
- Lead cross-functional governance to drive operations through metrics, insights, and dashboards.
- Ensure metric adoption across departments through structured reviews and performance routines.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying gaps, implementing corrective actions, and tracking progress.
- Foster a data-driven culture for transparency and operational excellence.
3. SCM Process Flow Design & Implementation
- Map and design end-to-end SCM workflows including planning, replenishment, warehousing, distribution, and returns.
- Re-engineer processes to improve efficiency, speed, accuracy, and customer fulfilment.
- Establish SOPs, governance structures, and compliance frameworks aligned with global ZEISS standards.
4. Procurement Process Flow Design & Implementation
- Design and improve procurement workflows from sourcing to PO processing and vendor management.
- Enhance process visibility, compliance, and cycle time through streamlined workflows.
- Align procurement processes with ERP, vendor portals, and approval frameworks.
- Collaborate with category managers, finance, and business stakeholders for seamless procurement execution.
5. EHS Charter Leadership (Environment, Health & Safety)
- Lead the EHS governance within the supply chain and associated operations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, audits, and ZEISS global EHS requirements.
- Drive safety programs, risk assessments, hazard mitigation, and incident reporting mechanisms.
- Provide training, awareness programs, and build a culture of safety across warehouses, logistics operations, and supply chain teams.
- Monitor EHS KPIs and integrate them into the Control Tower for continuous visibility and action.
6. Transformation & Change Leadership
- Drive digital transformation initiatives including automation, smart workflows, and analytics adoption.
- Enable training, capability-building, and change management to achieve smooth process deployment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 8-12 years of experience in supply chain, control tower, process design, or EHS governance.
- Strong experience in designing and implementing SCM & Procurement workflows.
- Proven expertise in designing performance metrics and running supply chain control tower models.
- Knowledge of EHS frameworks, policies, audits, and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems, Power BI/Tableau dashboards, and process mapping tools.
- Strong analytical, program management, and stakeholder-engagement capabilities.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Supply Chain, or EHS (NEBOSH/IOSH) are advantageous.
