Job Description Head of Content - Originals (Videos & Strategies)

Role Summary

Pinkvilla is looking for a Head of Content to lead content strategy and execution for a new video-first consumer product in the entertainment and lifestyle category. This role will be responsible for building a high-performing content engine that delivers culturally relevant, engaging storytelling across formats and platforms.

You will work at the intersection of content, audience insights, and platform behaviordriving content performance, building scalable processes, and leading a team of creators to grow a large, loyal consumer audience.

Key Responsibilities

1) Content Strategy & Programming

Define the overall content vision, tone, and content pillars for a video-first entertainment product.

Identify high-impact content themes, franchises, and formats aligned with audience interests.

Drive a consistent publishing calendar backed by strong editorial judgment and trend awareness.

2) Content Creation & Execution

Own end-to-end production workflows: ideation, scripting, planning, shooting/editing, packaging, and publishing.

Build repeatable, scalable production systems to deliver high-quality content consistently.

Maintain strong quality standards for storytelling, packaging, and brand voice.

3) Performance & Audience Growth

Monitor and improve content performance through data-driven decision-making.

Collaborate with growth and product teams to optimize content distribution and engagement outcomes.

Continuously experiment with formats, hooks, storytelling structures, and publishing cadence.

4) Team Leadership

Hire, lead, and mentor a team of video producers, writers, editors, and creative strategists.

Set clear goals, workflows, and accountability for content excellence and output.

Build a high-ownership culture with strong creative standards and fast execution.

5) Brand Safety & Editorial Standards

Ensure all content aligns with Pinkvillas credibility, sensitivity standards, and reputation.

Establish editorial guidelines and review processes to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Work with internal stakeholders to manage content governance and escalation workflows.

What we need

• 1012+ years of experience in digital content, entertainment media, or video-first publishing.
• Strong leadership experience managing content teams and scaling high-volume production.
• Deep understanding of audience behavior, pop culture trends, and video platform dynamics.
• Proven ability to build content franchises and recurring formats that deliver consistent engagement.
• Strong editorial judgment, storytelling ability, and creative taste.
• Highly analytical mindset with comfort working alongside product and growth teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in short-form / video-first ecosystems (YouTube, Reels, Shorts, OTT, digital media).
• Experience building content operations at scale for large consumer audiences.
• Familiarity with creator ecosystems and influencer-led formats.
