Head of Compliance

Position: Head of Compliance, India

Work Location: Mumbai/Bangalore

You will be key member of the CapitaLand Investment (CLI) Group Compliance team with responsibility for all compliance matters in India applying to CLI and its India businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement

• Drive CLI Indias compliance strategy in line with Group standards, local regulations, and industry best practices.
• Advise senior management and business teams on compliance priorities and requirements.
• Act as the key compliance partner for internal teams and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators.

Compliance Oversight & Monitoring

• Design and run a risk-based compliance monitoring program; identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
• Track regulatory changes and lead impact assessments and policy updates.
• Oversee compliance policies, systems, tools, and reporting.
• Provide advisory support on financial crime, sanctions, and political exposure risks.
• Manage suspicious transaction reviews, investigations, and regulatory filings.
• Support ad-hoc compliance initiatives and projects.

Training

• Deliver regular compliance training to reinforce awareness and a strong compliance culture.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Law graduate from a premier institution.
• 12+ years compliance experience with global asset managers or international financial services firms; top-tier law firm exposure preferred.
• Strong command of Indian regulatory frameworks, including corporate, securities, forex, and real estate/infrastructure laws.
• Hands-on experience in compliance audits, regulatory reporting, and policy implementation.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Clear communicator; proactive, hands-on, and results-driven team player.
