Role Overview:

The Data Science Practice Head is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and scaling a world-class Data Science function. This leader will define the enterprise AI vision, drive business impact through advanced analytics, and deliver production-grade, scalable AI/ML solutions for global clients.

This role combines thought leadership, executive stakeholder partnership, and delivery excellence, and is ideal for a leader who has built practices, influenced C-suite decisions, and translated data science into measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Vision

Define and own the Data Science & AI roadmap, aligned with enterprise and client growth objectives

Build, mentor, and scale high-performing global Data Science teams

Establish best-in-class delivery standards, governance frameworks, and operating models

Delivery Excellence

Own end-to-end delivery of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Advanced Analytics programs

Oversee the full model lifecycledesign, validation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization

Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, explainable, compliant, and enterprise-ready

Executive Stakeholder Partnership

Act as a trusted advisor to CXOs, Product Leaders, and Engineering Heads

Translate complex business challenges into data-driven strategies with clear ROI

Support pre-sales, executive presentations, proposals, and solution architecture

Innovation & IP Creation

Drive innovation across AI/ML, GenAI, LLMs, NLP, Computer Vision, and Predictive Analytics

Evaluate and adopt emerging platforms, tools, and methodologies

Build reusable accelerators, frameworks, and intellectual property to strengthen market differentiation

Governance & Quality

Ensure adherence to ethical AI, model governance, regulatory compliance, and data privacy

Define success metrics, KPIs, and continuous improvement mechanisms across the practice

Experience & Expertise

12+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or AI

5+ years in a senior leadership or practice-building role

Deep expertise in Machine Learning, Statistical Modeling, and Advanced Analytics

Hands-on experience with Python/R, SQL, and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn

Proven track record of deploying models on AWS, Azure, or GCP

Strong understanding of MLOps, model lifecycle management, and enterprise production systems

Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Experience

Exposure to Generative AI / LLM ecosystems (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, LangChain, etc.)

Domain experience across Retail, BFSI, Supply Chain, Healthcare, or Manufacturing

Experience building Data Science Centers of Excellence (CoEs) or practices from the ground up

Education

Masters or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
