Position Title: Head IT Applications

Reporting To: Chief Technology Officer

Industry: Stock Broking / Financial Services

Location: Chennai

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership & IT Governance

• Define and execute IT application strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives across trading platforms and internal systems.
• Ensure compliance with SEBI, RBI, and other regulatory bodies.

2. Application Development & Management

• Oversee development, deployment, and optimization of retail trading applications (web & mobile).
• Manage front-end and back-end systems for brokerage services.
• Ensure seamless integration with core systems (CRM, ERP, Risk, Compliance).

3. Infrastructure & Cloud Management

• Supervise cloud platforms, server infrastructure, and data centers.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of IT systems.
• Drive disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

4. Cybersecurity & Data Protection

• Implement robust firewall and cybersecurity protocols.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents.
• Ensure data privacy and protection across all platforms.

5. Vendor & Budget Management

• Manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor contracts.
• Evaluate and onboard technology partners for trading, analytics, and support.

6. Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor cross-functional IT teams.
• Collaborate with business units (Operations, Compliance, Risk, Sales) to deliver tech solutions.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, IT, or related field with 14-20 Years of experience (at least 5 years in leadership role)
• Proven experience in IT application leadership within broking or BFSI sector.
• Must have hands on knowledge of coding
• Strong knowledge of trading platforms, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
