Key Responsibilities
- Lead awareness and stabilize Innovation culture plus ideation to monetization initiatives
- Lead and manage the organizations full IP lifecyclefrom invention disclosure to filing, prosecution, and portfolio management
- Sound understanding of the product portfolio of the Company, developmental contours, space for innovation leading to invention, excellent prior art search skills, hand holding of inventors and walk them through the innovation/invention path,
- Formulate a draft potential innovation/invention document supporting final disclosure document
- Draft high-quality patent specifications with strong technical depth and legal soundness
- Manage and coordinate with external IP counsel, examiners, and patent offices
- Advise senior leadership and R&D teams on IP Landscape for Domestic and International jurisdictions, IP strategies, risks, and opportunities,
- Evaluate new inventions for patentability and commercial relevance
- Monitor competitor IP and conduct landscape analysis
- Develop internal IP policies, awareness programs, and inventor training
- Weekly analysis of Patent journals analysis of near-to pending patent applications for oppositions, existing similar patents in all jurisdictions and possible developments taking place globally which can potentially be an opportunity for us.
Preferred Skills
- Expert understanding of India Legal environment
- Expert understanding of India and Global legal process in patent application filings prosecution grant of patent timelines and strategic time management
- Expert handling of prosecution notices with responses and appearance
- Strong understanding of global patent systems: USPTO, EPO, WIPO, IPO India
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work with crossfunctional engineering and R&D teams
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience
Experience Requirements
- 1015 years of total professional experience in Intellectual Property
- Strong foundation in patent drafting, patent prosecution (India & international jurisdictions preferred)
- Hands-on experience preparing responses to FER/office actions, patentability assessments, prior art searches, and claim strategy
- Demonstrated experience building or managing corporate IP programs (innovation harvesting, patent portfolio strategy, IP risk assessment)
- Should have worked inside corporate environments (R&D-driven or technology-heavy companies preferred)
- Exposure to IP litigation support, oppositions, FTO analysis, competitor IP mappingadded advantage
Educational Background
- BE / B.Tech in Engineering
- (preferred disciplines: Mechanical, Electronics, Physics, Chemical, or related technical fields)
- Law degree (LLB) mandatory
- Preferred: Registered Patent Attorney / Patent Agent
