Magma Engineering & MRO is a new business vertical of Magma, created to support factories with end-to-end precision engineering, machining, fabrication, and maintenance solutions from design to delivery. With captive control over advanced machining and fabrication facilities equipped with CNC, VMC, deep-hole drilling, honing, turn-milling, heavy fabrication, and precision inspection systems, this vertical operates as an extended in-house engineering arm for our customers. The focus is on reliability, speed, quality, and long-term partnerships.

Position Overview: The Head Engineering & MRO will be responsible for building, scaling, and leading Magmas Engineering & MRO vertical end-to-end. The Head Engineering & MRO must possess deep hands-on understanding of precision machining processes and be able to translate complex drawings into repeatable, scalable manufacturing solutions using CNC, VMC, turn-mill, deep-hole drilling, honing, and advanced inspection capabilities. This role combines technical leadership, operations excellence, customer engagement, and P&L ownership to establish Magma as a trusted engineering partner for factories across industries. The incumbent will ensure execution across machining, fabrication, maintenance support, quality, and delivery while integrating captive facilities into a single, high-performance engineering ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Own the overall strategy, growth, and profitability of the Engineering & MRO vertical

Define service offerings across precision machining, fabrication, MRO, prototyping, and batch production

Build Magmas positioning as a long-term engineering partner embedded in customer operations

Identify industry clusters, key accounts, and repeat-program opportunities

Lead captive machining and fabrication facilities as integrated extensions of Magma

Oversee process planning, feasibility analysis, tooling strategy, and production scheduling

Read, interpret, and challenge complex drawings, tolerances, and GD&T

Ensure optimal utilization of CNC, VMC, turn-mill, deep-hole drilling, honing, fabrication, and toolroom capabilities.

Identify manufacturing risks early tolerance risk, distortion, tool wear, inspection gaps. Balance precision, cost, cycle time, and delivery without compromising reliability

Establish and enforce robust quality systems across all facilities

Oversee inspection, documentation, traceability, and customer audits

Build a culture of first-time-right manufacturing. Act as the senior engineering interface for key customers

Support customers during shutdowns, retrofits, urgent breakdowns, and critical spare requirements. Enable customers to choose material + machining or machining-only models seamlessly

Support preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance programs

Develop quick-response workflows for downtime-critical components

Build and mentor a strong team across engineering, production, QA, planning, and vendor coordination

Enable cross-selling and integrated solutions for manufacturing customers

Strengthen Magmas role inside the broader manufacturing value chain

Qualifications:

1218+ years of experience in precision engineering, machining, fabrication, or industrial MRO.

Proven leadership of CNC/VMC-based operations and complex machining programs.

Experience managing multi-facility or captive manufacturing setups.

Strong exposure to customer-facing engineering roles and key account handling.

Ability to balance engineering depth with commercial outcomes.

High ownership, decisiveness, and problem-solving capability.

Comfortable operating in fast-growing, evolving environment.
