Head - Economic Policy

Overall Purpose of the Job

To lead the Economic Policy work and provide direction on all macroeconomic and fiscal policy matters impacting Indian industry. The incumbent will drive policy advocacy initiatives, prepare industry viewpoints for presenting before government stakeholders, coordinate member consultations, and oversee content outputs. The role entails responsibility for the financial and administrative management of the vertical, and for ensuring that the organisation's economic policy perspectives are influential, forward-looking, and data-driven.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the organisation's policy agenda across macroeconomics, fiscal, monetary, industrial policy, investment, and related sectors; produce impactful policy papers, representations, and submissions to key ministries.
• Maintain strong liaison with Ministry of Finance, NITI Aayog, RBI, PM Economic Advisory Council, and other relevant government bodies; ensure the organisation is well represented in consultations and working groups.
• Manage the verticals team and finances efficiently; ensure timely deliverables, budget adherence, and professional development of staff.

Qualifications

• PhD or Post Graduation in Economics
• Minimum 1820 years of experience in policy, economic analysis, or government service in economic ministries, or leadership roles in think tanks.
