Job Description
This role is both strategic and execution-driven, combining mining knowledge, recycling technology, and commercial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Business Development
- Develop a 510 year roadmap for critical minerals within MTC Group.
- Identify high-potential minerals such as:
- Lithium
- Cobalt
- Nickel
- Rare Earth Elements (REE)
- Graphite
- Manganese
- Copper & specialty alloys
- Build business models across:
- Recycling
- Urban mining
- Primary mining partnerships
- Import/export & trading.
- Mining & Resource Exploration (India Focus)
- Identify and evaluate mineral blocks, exploration opportunities, and auctioned mines.
- Liaise with:
- Geological Survey of India (GSI)
- State mining departments
- Private mine owners.
- Lead due diligence on mining assets:
- Resource estimation
- Commercial viability
- Regulatory approvals.
- Recycling & Technology Development
- Build and scale recycling capabilities for:
- EV batteries
- E-waste
- Catalytic converters
- Industrial scrap containing critical elements.
- Evaluate and onboard global recycling technologies.
- Work with R&D team for process innovation and recovery efficiency.
- Partnerships & Global Alliances
- Develop partnerships with:
- OEMs (EV & electronics)
- Global technology providers
- Research institutes
- Japanese / European strategic investors.
- Structure JV, licensing, or offtake agreements.
- Commercial & Supply Chain Leadership
- Secure feedstock pipelines for recycling operations.
- Build downstream customer base:
- Battery manufacturers
- Alloy producers
- Specialty chemical companies.
- Develop pricing and hedging strategy for critical minerals.
- Regulatory & ESG Leadership
- Ensure compliance with:
- Indian mining regulations
- Environmental norms
- Circular economy standards.
- Drive sustainability and ESG frameworks.
- Team Building & Leadership
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary team including:
- Metallurgists
- Geologists
- Recycling process engineers
- Market analysts.
- Establish internal knowledge center for critical minerals.
Required Skills & Qualification:
- Degree in Mining Engineering / Metallurgy / Geology / Chemical Engineering.
- MBA or equivalent strategic exposure preferred.
- Work Experience: 15 25 years in Mining / minerals sector / Strategic metals / rare earths / Battery materials or recycling.
- Should have strong understanding of Indian mining ecosystem, Mineral auctions & exploration licensing & Global critical mineral markets.
