Head - Air Freight

We are currently seeking a senior leader to head our Air Freight division for the Bangalore region. Based at our Airport office, this role carries full responsibility for operations, profitability, compliance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

- Business & Profitability: Manage the P&L for Bangalore Air Freight to deliver budgeted revenue and tonnage. Negotiate with airlines, GSAs, and custodians, and support the Sales team with pricing and market intelligence.

- Operations & Compliance: Oversee end-to-end air forwarding, ensuring 100% compliance with DGCA, IATA, Customs, DGR, and SEZ regulations. Manage time-sensitive, pharma, and perishable cargo while maintaining service excellence.

- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Air Export operations and documentation team, defining KPIs and driving staff development.

- Coordination: Collaborate with Sales for client acquisition, align with MIS for performance reporting, and work with Finance to ensure accurate billing and timely collections.

Candidate Profile:

- 1520 years of experience in air freight, with at least 710 years in a leadership role.

- Preferred Customs G Card holder with expert knowledge in Customs Clearance and both import/export air freight.

- Deep understanding of air cargo booking processes (MAWB/HAWB, consolidations, block space) and Bangalore operations.

- Strong commercial acumen, airline negotiation skills, and a proven track record in crisis management.
