Job Summary
The Head Admissions is responsible for leading the entire student recruitment and admissions strategy for the Engineering College. The role involves driving admission targets, developing marketing strategies, managing the admissions team, ensuring compliance with regulatory norms (AICTE/University), and enhancing the institutions brand positioning to achieve sustainable growth in student enrollment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Leadership
Develop and execute annual admissions strategy aligned with institutional goals.
Set student intake targets program-wise (B.Tech, M.Tech, lateral entry, etc.).
Design geographic expansion plans and outreach strategy.
Lead and mentor the admissions, telecalling, and counselling teams.
Present periodic admissions performance reports to management.
2. Marketing & Lead Generation
Collaborate with Marketing team for:
oDigital campaigns (Google, Meta, website lead generation)
oEducation fairs and school outreach programs
oChannel partner engagement
Monitor lead generation funnel and improve conversion ratios.
Identify new markets and partnerships (coaching centers, schools, consultants).
3. Admissions Operations & Process Management
Oversee inquiry handling, counselling, application processing, and enrollment.
Ensure CRM optimization and data-driven decision-making.
Establish SOPs for admissions workflow.
Monitor daily/weekly MIS and pipeline tracking.
4. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
Ensure admissions are in compliance with:
oAICTE guidelines
oState CET/University norms
oReservation policies
oDocumentation and audit requirements
Coordinate with academic and administrative departments for seat matrix and approvals.
5. Revenue & Target Accountability
Own overall admission numbers and revenue projections.
Drive scholarship strategy balancing competitiveness and revenue.
Optimize cost per admission.
Analyze competitor pricing and positioning.
6. Stakeholder Management
Engage with parents and high-value prospects when required.
Work closely with:
oDirector / Management
oMarketing Team
oFinance Department
oAcademic Heads
Build strong external relations with schools, coaching centers, and industry networks.
7. Team Management
Recruit, train, and supervise:
oTelecallers
oAdmission Counsellors
oField Executives
Set KPIs and performance benchmarks.
Conduct performance reviews and coaching interventions.

Educational Qualification

Graduate/Postgraduate in any discipline
812 years of experience in admissions, student recruitment, or education sales
Minimum 35 years in a leadership role preferred
