Hardware Engineer Power Converter

Virbhu India Pvt Ltd Vadodara (Gujarat), a wholly owned subsidiary of AK-LLC (USA), operating in the field of power electronics, has as an immediate opening for a Hardware engineer. The position will be involved in new product development supporting the design and launch of Virbhu India Pvt Ltd next generation of cutting-edge products. The position is responsible to design hardware for Power board for power electronics converters and support in testing of prototypes.

Responsibilities:

• Selection of Power converter topologies
• Analysis of power converter topologies
• Design calculations, election of Power components (IGBT, MOSFET, Drivers, Capacitors, Magnetic components)
• Closed loop control analysis
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, validation (at board and system level).
• Prepare Circuits for schematic designs, PCB layout design and check, BOM creation, reviews and debugging and testing.
• Create fluent technical documentation including product specifications, assembly instructions, test procedures, etc.
• Work closely with firmware, software, and mechanical team to achieve common goals.
• Identification of Test Set up requirements.
• Participate in product design reviews, own hardware issues to provide solutions either in design or at production.
• Support to procurement team for alternate components,
• Participate in lab development, test automation and productivity improvement initiatives, improving process and practices for better quality, Will be responsible for hardware design, bring up, certification and production release.

Qualifications and Experience

• BTech /MTech. in Power Electronics, Electrical, Electronics
• Must have a minimum of 7~9 years of experience working in HW design for Power Electronics.
• Expertise in Power supply design, battery management, Driver circuit design, selection of components, layout review.
• Experience in Power converter simulation with PSIM, MATLAB, LTSpice.
• Experience in Board bring up testing, Power converter testing at high voltage and high power
• Experience in preparing BOM, Testplan, Test reports, Design calculations.
• Knowledge of magnetic components and their design.
