The Position Guidewire Technology Director/Architect

Location: Hyderabad, India

About the Role:

We are looking for an accomplished technical leader to lead our Guidewire Engineering teams from our Hyderabad office. Tech Lead / Architect will be responsible for leading the technical design, architecture, and implementation of software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of software development, architecture principles, and the ability to lead and mentor development teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience in the insurance industry. The role will focus on providing solutions on the Guidewire platforms across cross functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

• Lead the design and architecture of Guidewire applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Act as a technical point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on technical decisions

Solution Design and Architecture:

• Develop and maintain architectural blueprints and design documents for software solutions.
• Ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet performance requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance the development process

Implementation and Development:

Oversee the implementation of software solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.

• Collaborate with development teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and QA teams, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

Relevant Background & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or architectural role.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex software solutions.
• Ability to define best practices, coding standards and technical frameworks for Guidewire suite deployments
• Multiple Certifications in Guidewire Platform
• Experience in the insurance industry and understanding of relevant processes (Policy, Claims & Billing) is preferred

Technical Skills:

• 5+ years of experience as a Guidewire Solutions/Technical architect
• Proven experience integrating Guidewire with Pega applications (Case management, BPM, decisioning)
• Experience with Guidewire configuration, GOSU development and APIs
• Hands on experience with integration frameworks (SOAP/Rest, APIs, messaging, MQ, ESB, Mulesoft, Kafka etc)
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker).
• Understanding of database design and management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
