Job Description

At Medtronic you can begin a life-long career of exploration and innovation, while helping champion healthcare access and equity for all. You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world.

A Day in the Life

The Greenfield Proposal Development role is a key part of the Greenfield Accounts team, supporting Medtronic’s efforts to drive strategic engagement with key stakeholders before hospitals are operational.
This role focuses on the pre-deal phase, working closely with Greenfield Leads, internal stakeholders, and occasionally external partners to craft compelling proposals, business cases, and value propositions tailored to new hospital construction and expansion projects (collectively known as Greenfield projects). By aligning Medtronic’s solutions with the strategic needs of healthcare investors, hospital systems, and government entities, this role contributes to positioning Medtronic as the preferred partner for these new ventures.

Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Lead the development of customized proposals, business cases, and solution packages for Greenfield projects, ensuring alignment with customer needs and Medtronic’s strategic objectives.

  • Work closely with the Greenfield Accounts Leads to assess and qualify opportunities, ensuring high-quality pipeline management.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Services and Solutions, Pricing, Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to develop compelling value propositions, pricing models, and deal structures.

  • Conduct market research, as needed, to enhance proposal effectiveness.

  • Develop presentations and supporting materials for senior executives, investors, and other key stakeholders to facilitate deal proposal discussions.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, healthcare policies, and hospital procurement processes to refine proposal strategies.

  • Ensure timely submission of proposals.

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Greenfield proposal success rates, analyzing win rates and lessons learned from past proposals to continuously refine and improve future submissions.

  • Support Greenfield Account Leads in business development activities within the regions, as required.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Healthcare Management, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, healthcare consulting, sales operations, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a proven ability to develop business cases and financial models.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging with senior stakeholders across various levels and functions – including hospital executives, clinical leaders, investors, and government entities.

  • Familiarity with healthcare infrastructure development, including hospital construction, facility expansion, and project lifecycle considerations.

  • Understanding of healthcare market dynamics, regulations, procurement processes, and value-based care principles.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in diverse, international environments, preferably within matrix organizations or cross-regional teams.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and data visualization platforms.

  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in a regional language is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
