Position Overview

A Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) is an entry-level engineering professional who undergoes structured training and development to gain practical knowledge and skills in engineering functions. The role prepares fresh engineering graduates to take on full-time responsibilities in areas such as design, production, quality, maintenance, projects, or research & development depending on the industry and organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Training & Learning

  • Undergo on-the-job training in different departments (production, quality, design, R&D, etc.).

  • Learn company-specific processes, tools, and technologies.

  • Participate in classroom and practical training sessions.

• Technical Contribution

  • Assist senior engineers in day-to-day operations and projects.

  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and reporting to support engineering decisions.

  • Work on minor projects or assignments to develop hands-on experience.

• Operational Support

  • Support in troubleshooting technical issues in operations.

  • Perform testing, inspection, and quality checks under supervision.

  • Document processes, findings, and improvements.

• Continuous Improvement

  • Suggest innovative ideas for process improvement.

  • Participate in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or quality initiatives (where applicable).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong foundation in engineering concepts (relevant to specialization).

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in engineering tools/software (CAD, MATLAB, PLC, etc., depending on domain).
