Role Overview

We are looking for a Graduate Engineering Trainee (GET) with a strong interest in UAV / Drone design, development, and testing. The trainee will work closely with the engineering and R&D team on mechanical design, electronics integration, prototyping, and flight testing of drones and related systems.

This role is ideal for fresh engineering graduates who want real-world exposure to drone design, manufacturing, and field testing.

Key Responsibilities

Drone Design & Engineering

• Assist in mechanical design of drone frames, mounts, and payload structures using CAD tools
• Support structural analysis and weight optimization of drone components
• Work on material selection for frames and components (carbon fiber, aluminum, composites, etc.)

Electronics & Integration

• Assist in integration of motors, ESCs, flight controllers, batteries, GPS, sensors, and payloads
• Support wiring, soldering, and basic PCB understanding for UAV systems
• Help in configuring and testing flight controllers (PX4 / ArduPilot or similar)

Prototyping & Testing

• Support prototype assembly and disassembly
• Participate in ground testing, calibration, and flight testing
• Assist in identifying failures and implementing design improvements

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare design drawings, BOMs, test reports, and technical documentation
• Support compliance with DGCA drone guidelines and internal quality standards

Cross-functional Support

• Coordinate with procurement for drone components
• Work with manufacturing / assembly teams during pilot builds
• Support troubleshooting during field deployments

Eligibility & Qualifications

Education

• B.Tech / BE in:
• Aerospace Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electronics / Electrical Engineering
• Mechatronics
• Robotics or related disciplines

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Basic understanding of UAV / drone systems and components
• Hands-on exposure to CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, or similar)
• Basic knowledge of:
• Aerodynamics
• Motors & propellers
• Batteries (LiPo) and power systems
• Willingness to work in field testing and outdoor environments

Preferred (Good to Have)

• Experience with college drone projects, competitions, or internships
• Familiarity with ArduPilot / PX4
• Basic knowledge of Python / MATLAB / C
• Experience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping
• Understanding of DGCA drone rules (India)
