Reports To: Business Development Manager / Director Sales

Role Overview

The Senior Executive will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and managing Government, Public sector undertakings (PSUs), Municipal corporations, and large Private Companies tender opportunities in Transportation, Accommodation, Events & Food services, with a strong focus on Government e-Marketplace (GeM) processes.

This role involves end-to-end bid management, relationship building with government agencies, and ensuring compliance with tender requirements to secure new business.

Key Responsibilities:

Tender Identification & Tracking

oMonitor relevant portals and tender notifications.

oEvaluate tender eligibility, scope, and requirements.

Bid Preparation & Submission

oGood negotiation skills for pre-bid meetings and clarifications

oPrepare technical and financial proposals in line with tender specifications.

oCoordinate with internal teams (operations, finance, legal) for documentation and approvals.

oEnsure timely submission of bids with complete compliance.

GeM Portal Management

oManage company profile, product/service listings, and updates on GeM.

oHandle bid participation, reverse auctions, and order processing through GeM.

oEnsure compliance with GeM guidelines and government procurement norms

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

oBuild and maintain relationships with relevant industries.

oRepresent the company in pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and negotiations.

Business Development

oIdentify new opportunities in government travel contracts, empanelment, and rate agreements.

oCapability to create strategies to improve win rates.

oUnderstanding of rate contracts, empanelment and service tenders.

oDevelop strategies to increase win rates and expand market share in government business.

Compliance & Documentation

oMaintain accurate records of bids, contracts, and correspondence.

oEnsure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements.

Reporting & Analysis

oTrack bid outcomes, success ratios, and competitor activities.

oProvide regular updates to management on tender pipeline and performance.

Qualifications & Skills

-Bachelors degree in business, Commerce, Tourism, or related field (MBA preferred).

-4-7 years of experience in business development, preferably in government tenders/bids in service industry.

-Strong knowledge of government procurement processes and e-tendering platforms.

-Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

-Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

-Familiarity with tender management tools and online procurement portals

-Basic understanding of costing, pricing and financial calculations

-Ability to work under deadlines with attention to detail.

-Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
