Job Title: Manager Government Sales
Role Overview
The Government Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business with central, state, and local government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and government agencies. The role involves identifying opportunities, managing tenders, building stakeholder relationships, and closing deals aligned with the companys growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within government and public sector clients.
- Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers, procurement teams, and nodal officers.
- Track government tenders, RFPs, and bids relevant to the companys products/services.
- Work closely with internal teams (legal, product, finance, operations) to structure proposals and bids.
- Lead negotiations and contract discussions with government clients.
- Ensure timely submission of tenders, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Manage end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting to deal closure.
- Maintain a strong pipeline and achieve assigned revenue targets.
- Represent the company at government forums, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Provide regular reports on pipeline, wins, losses, and market insights.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- 48 years of experience in Government Sales / Public Sector Sales.
- Prior experience working with tenders, RFPs, and government procurement processes.
- Experience selling to ministries, departments, PSUs, or state governments is highly preferred.
- Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred.
- Experience in technology, SaaS, digital solutions, or advertising/communication solutions is a plus.
