As a GCP Observability Engineer, you will play a critical role in design and implementation of enterprise-scale applications within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. Your expertise in GCP observability services will ensure that our systems are reliable, scalable, and efficient, delivering exceptional value to our internal customers.
The Team
The Observability and Application Services team, part of Digital Technology Services (DTS), is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data-based systems that power corporate applications, shared services, and information security systems. This is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic and impactful team providing tangible value to our internal customers, leveraging modern cloud-based platforms and services to deliver insights and drive efficiency.
Responsibilities and Impact
- GCP technical lead within a team rapidly growing in GCP usage.
- Design and implementation of technical integrations to support enterprise scale observability and data pipelines feeding GCP.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure robust deployment processes.
- Experience deploying OpenTelemetry at scale for monitoring, APM tracing, and performance optimization.
- Creation of detailed documentation and architectural diagrams, along with the presentation of solutions to peers and stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
Basic Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a technical subject.
- Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at enterprise scale with relevant certifications.
- Proven scripting/coding experience in at least one of: Bash, Python, PowerShell.
- Experience working with code repositories (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Soft Skills Required
- Ability to present ideas and designs to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) team.
- Experience with Terraform.
- Experience with enterprise observability tools and platforms.
- Knowledge of Agentic AI workflows and understanding of LLM Observability concepts.
