Job Description:

   

Depending on the size of the deal or account, the Global Solution Architect can play a variety of leadership roles in the Pursuit lifecycle. On smaller deals the Global Solution Architect can perform the role of Business Developer, lead the solution development effort, manage negotiations with the customer & the customer’s advisors, define contract terms & conditions and manage the internal company SOAR governance process to secure final approval for the deal. On larger deals, the Global Solution Architect takes over from the Business Developer (or Client Manager in the case of new business from existing account) to lead a team of Pursuit experts who assess client needs, fashion a solution, secure internal company approvals and relay the solution into an executable customer agreement/contract.

Solutions are to be seamlessly turned over to Delivery (Service Excellence). The Engagement job family ranges from being accountable for specific components of the Pursuit lifecycle to full accountability for the complete Life cycle. 
Its scope ranges from small deals /contract re-negotiations in a single country with a local company to large, complex, global deals with Fortune 100 clients. The foundation competency is program/project management coupled with contract negotiation & client relationship skills.

The role assists Business Development and Sales in the qualification, risk assessment of potential opportunities.
The Global Solution Architect is accountable for assembling a team of expert resources to pursue the opportunity to successful win. The role conducts negotiations at high level of the customer organization, on such complex outsourcing issues like business case development, asset acquisition, human resource transfer and financial topics. It manages the engagement, development & proposal-writing process and relationships with client 3rd party consultants who influence the industry and the client.
The Individual Contributor part of the Engagement Family provides specialized support services to the overall Engagement. Those services can impact one or several of the typical Engagement lifecycle components such as Proposal development/response, solution and pricing coordination, general project management of the various Deal Project Plan elements, bid assurance/risk assessment, contract statement of work, and Transition plan initiation.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sales and deal pursuit teams to develop and ensure the effective implementation and execution of the solution.

  • Leads negotiations for large national and global deals and assists with complex contractual and transacting structures.

  • Responsible for the creation of the documented solution design that includes the evaluation of HPEFS capabilities against customer needs while setting appropriate expectations.

  • Ownership of obtaining official sign-off of the Customer Solution design.

  • Presentation of final Customer Solution Design to customer, partner or relevant stakeholder as appropriate.

  • Responsible for the effective implementation and/or transition to all relative teams within or between GEOs in a globally consistent manner.

  • Manages virtual Solution Design Team to support original design as well as implementation or renewal resulting in significant change in relation model. (Team might include but is not limited to: Pricing, Legal, Risk Management, Asset Management, WW Customer Delivery (Service Excellence), Business Process Management, Other functions as need (i.e. Tax, Finance).)

  • Helps in the transition of deal leadership to permanently assigned management to ensure seamless asset transfer, personnel transfer, technology and process adoption.

  • Ensure that HPEFS policies, procedures and schedules of authority are properly governed to support global consistency and operational excellence.

The core Solution Architect role will have or will develop expertise in the following areas:

  • Direct Financing

  • Digital Solutions

  • Service Provider Solutions

  • Legal Contract Negotiations

  • Asset Management Solutions

  • Integrated/combination deals with both Financing and Asset Management/Lifecycle features.

  • Embedded Lease Structures supporting DaaS, MDS, MPS, and GreenLake deals.

Candidates for this role should be technically savvy and be comfortable working with and interpreting data and reports. They should possess the ability to multi-task and project manage multiple ongoing deals at one time. They should be able to present both internally and externally on our offers and capabilities and be comfortable training and educating our HPEFS Sales teams on complex solution design.

Competencies:

  • Strong presentation, relationship development and management skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Knowledgeable of pricing, credit and legal processes and requirements for financing.

  • Strong knowledge of HPEFS capabilities and core system processes.

  • Working knowledge of the HPFS Global credit policy, procedures and legal requirements.

  • Strong knowledge of multi-geo deal structuring including understanding of key tax, legal and regulatory restrictions.

  • Effective organization, project/time management, prioritization, follow-up and execution skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Advanced, Excel, Word, PPT)

  • Effective problem solving and issue resolution skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others.

Education and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience within Financial Services or Asset Management

  • University Degree preferred or equivalent experience

  • Previous customer facing experience preferred; willingness to be in a customer facing role while working closely with sales is required.

  • Industry knowledge strongly preferred.
