Job Description
The Innovation Economy group is part of the Global Corporate Bank at J.P. Morgan. The team's aim is for J.P. Morgan to be the leading bank for venture-capital backed companies with high-growth potential in industries such as Disruptive Commerce, Technology, Fintech, Life Sciences, Healthcare IT, and ClimateTech.
As an Associate in our Innovation Economy team you will play an integral part to gain, manage and maintain client relationships within the Innovation Economy sector. You will manage internal and external aspects of client relationships, including conducting industry and company research, helping with credit analysis, and partnering with product and industry specialists within the Commercial and Investment Bank.
You will support deal teams and country leadership, with accountability for pitch book preparation, transaction execution and reporting requirements, while ensuring seamless coordination among deal team members, product partners and internal stakeholders. Job Responsibilities
- Work alongside Senior Bankers and Product Partners to execute transactions from initial pitch through to close for both existing and prospective clients.
- Prepare marketing materials for use in client meetings covering topics such as financing, working capital optimization, industry and peer analysis.
- Support Senior Bankers to generate new revenue opportunities from prospects and existing clients. This includes leading on some client outreach and interaction.
- Collaborate with credit underwriting teams on analysis and documentation of credit requests.
- Build and use financial models to support financing transactions; and to assist with reporting requirements and data management.
- Develop an understanding of the full breadth of J.P. Morgan products and service offerings, including but not limited to M&A, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, and treasury services.
- On-going support with ecosystem events organized by J.P. Morgan or attended by the team.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance/Economics or a related field.
- Minimum 3 year of relevant experience in Corporate or Investment Banking.
- Proficient analytical, and modelling skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented and proactive.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment.
- Highly motivated team player with solid communication and project management skills.
- Outstanding ethics, integrity and judgment.
- Excel and Power Point skills.
