Job Description
Hiring: AGMSGM, MEP (Design & Product Development) | Bangalore
We are looking for a senior MEP leader (AGMSGM level) to head Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing design, implementation, and compliance for large-scale developments. This role is ideal for someone who brings technical depth, strategic foresight, and the ability to lead end-to-end MEP functions for high-performance, future-ready spaces.
Key Objective
Build safe, efficient, sustainable and human-centric spaces by ensuring world-class MEP systems from design to installation to lifecycle maintenance while driving engineering excellence, compliance, and green certification outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Build long-term MEP strategies that enhance safety, functionality, and asset value.
- Lead process optimisation, value engineering, and adoption of global standards.
- Define engineering frameworks, competencies, and best practices across all MEP functions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate MEP seamlessly into architectural and product design.
Design Ownership
- Lead the complete design lifecycle across HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety, elevators, STPs/ WTPs, automation, IT infrastructure and more.
- Prepare design briefs, BOQs, and budgets, and steer consultant coordination.
- Review and approve drawings at all stages; ensure client/tenant requirements are incorporated.
- Standardise MEP design for show units, mock-ups, and new product formats.
Execution & Maintenance
- Act as the central point between design teams, project execution, consultants, sales and CRM.
- Resolve RFIs, track progress, and ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.
- Build preventive and lifecycle maintenance frameworks for long-term asset performance.
- Introduce emerging technologies and modern tools (AutoCAD, Revit etc).
Compliance & Approvals
- Ensure adherence to all relevant codes, regulations, and building standards.
- Manage approvals, NOCs, load sanctions, and utility provider coordination.
- Evaluate and specify capital equipment (transformers, DGs, pumps, fire systems etc.).
Consultant & Vendor Management
- Build and manage a robust pool of consultants and MEP partners.
- Evaluate technical proposals, manage scope changes, and oversee contract compliance.
- Ensure timely billing, documentation, and adherence to quality standards.
Green Certification (LEED, etc.)
- Drive energy efficiency, sustainable design, and green compliance.
- Ensure documentation, system specs, product certifications, and data sheets meet LEED/other requirements.
Team Leadership
- Build, mentor, and manage a strong MEP team (SMs, AMs).
- Set goals, review performance, and drive continuous capability development.
- Identify training needs and promote a culture of quality and accountability.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with design, controls, PMO, legal, finance, execution, facilities, CRM and external vendors/consultants.
Qualifications
- BE Electrical or Mechanical
- Relevant MEP certifications preferred
- 17+ years of experience in MEP design + execution within real estate (commercial/residential)
